About the Author

Lincoln Beals was born and raised in Los Angeles County, California. He graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois with a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology and from UCLA with a Master’s Degree in Social Welfare. He is a licensed Clinical Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist.
During his professional career that spanned more than 40 years, his writing was prolific, but limited to probation reports, research papers and mental health evaluations. Lincoln taught courses in substance abuse prevention and Native American wellness for 7 years in the California State University system and four years at two California Community Colleges. He was a pre-licensure candidate examiner for ten years for the California Marriage and Family Therapist Examining Board.
Lincoln spent twenty-two years in the private practice of psychotherapy. He served in state mental hospitals, state prisons and a Native American community clinic. He volunteered his services on the boards of directors of several community mental health and substance abuse treatment agencies, as well as the California Society for Clinical Social Work and the Solano Partnership Against Violence.
Most recently, he provided counseling to military members and their families on military installations in Alaska, Germany, and California, where he won commendations and awards for outstanding service and support.
He is a member of the Northern California Branch of the Historical Novel Society, the Independent Book Publishers Association, the Town Center Writers Group and the Experimental Aircraft Association (1056522).
