We were like two stars orbiting each other—dancing around the possibility that one day we might collide. When we finally did, we opened up a black hole, obliterating everything around us. No one would be the same.
Least of all, us.

Waking up in Vegas married to the guy of your dreams sounds like a good thing, right? Not when you’re Thea Montgomery and said guy is your brother’s best friend.

Thea and Xander have always avoided the connection between them because her brother would never approve. Now, they’re married— the strongest bond you can have as a couple—and they’re not even a real couple…unless they want to be.

Thea wants an annulment immediately, but Xander’s waited too long to see her become his and he won’t let her go easily.

If she wants a divorce, fine, but he wants the summer to convince her that he’s the one. If at the end of the summer she still wants to end their marriage he’ll sign the papers, but until then…

All is not fair in love and war.

When Stars Collide is book two in the Light in the Dark series and it's Thea and Xander's story. It can be read as a standalone. Thea and Xander always had a crush on each other. But because Thea's brother is Xander's best friend, they never acted on their feelings. Until the day they wake up married in Las Vegas. Thea wants a divorce as soon as possible. But Xander doesn't want to let her go without a fight and asks her to wait until the end of the summer, three months, and only then decide if she really wants to divorce him. What will happen? Will Thea divorce Xander when the summer ends? Or will Xander show Thea what she really means to him? I loved this book and its story. It hooked me from the first page with the funny scenes, the little drama and the steamy scenes. The chemistry between Thea and Xander was amazing! Thea is a very sweet young woman. She is sassy and smart, but there are times she is very vulnerable and shy. She has always had a crush on Xander, but she knew her brother wouldn't aprove. Although in the beginning she doesn't want to give her marriage with Xander a chance, Thea can't resist him. Xander made me swoon a lot. He is so sweet and kind, but also very possessive and protective. Like Thea, he knows his best friend wouldn't approve their relationship, but he decides to fight for them. He knows what he wants and fights for it. This is my first book by Micalea Smeltzer and she didn't disappoint. When Stars Collide is a amazing friends-to-lovers romance, very well written. Micalea's writing style makes it easy to connect with the characters and the story and sucks you in from the beginning. Can't wait to read more!

This is the second book in this series however it can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read the first book but after reading this one it is on my TBR list now. I wanted to read this book after reading the synopsis and I wasn’t disappointed. I love Xander. He is funny, romantic, and protective. Thea is smart, spunky, and wonderful. Thea and Xander have been attracted to each other basically their whole life. However neither one of them have done anything about it. Thea’s Brother Cade and warned Xander many times to stay away from his little sister. The three of them go to Vegas for a week for some conferences and they decide to stay the weekend for some fun. The night before they leave Thea and Xander stay out later than Cade and the next morning Thea wakes up to find out that they got married. Sure they drank the night before but not that much. Thea wants a divorce and Xander doesn’t understand why. He has waited a long time for her to be his and he isn’t going to let her go easily. He comes up with a compromise. She gives him the summer to convince her to stay married and if at the end of the summer she still wants a divorce he will give it to her. Will things work out or will Xander be forced to let the only girl he has ever loved go? Xander isn’t going to play fair. He knows Thea likes him just as much she is just scared. Sure they are young and not everyone may understand but why should they let any of those things influence their decisions. Theo can’t believe it she is married to Xander. She has always dreamed of marrying him but not this way. What will her brother think, what about their parents? She also worries about how young they are. All the characters in this book were great and I can’t wait to read more about them. I love the ending. This book definitely had some surprise as well as twists and turns. This is also the first book I have read by Micalea Smeltzer. I look forward to reading more books by her in the future. I was given this book in return for an honest review.

“Are we all fools to think there is such a thing as true happiness in this world? Or are we all destined to live a lie spun of our own delusions?” “I kiss her like she’s the sun, and moon, and stars all wrapped in one. She’s everything in this world that dreams are built upon.” “It’s stupid to cry over this, but the love I feel for him honestly scares me. It’s intense and all-consuming. The kind of love that has the power to destroy you if things go wrong.” Micalea Smeltzer never ceases to amaze me. Her writing is flawless and so easy to get lost in. With each book she writes, she finds away to obliterate the bar I’ve set for her books and makes me fall desperately in love; not just with the story, but with the characters too.. When Stars Collide is one of my favorite book troupes. It’s a fantastic friends to lovers romance. I fell in love with the story-line from the very first chapter. From the moment I read that Thea and Xander got married in Las Vegas, I just knew this was going to be a great story. And let me tell you, I was not wrong. This story was captivating and a whole lot of fun. I loved watching Xander and Thea fall in love and how hard they worked to make their relationship work. The road to HEA for the two of them was not easy. There was a lot of bumps in the road and obstacles to overcome, but I just knew that what these two shared was strong enough to get them through just about anything that life decided to throw at them. I adored Thea from the moment I met her. I found her so easy to relate to and to connect with. She had been in love with Xander for such a long time, that I could totally understand her reservations about her relationship with Xander. It had to be terrifying to finally get what you’ve always wanted. She was afraid that it was too good to be true. And Xander…He was so sweet and so in love with Thea. Sure they got married young, but he also has always been in love with Thea and was determined to show her that what they have is real and worth fighting for. When Stars Collide was a quick and easy read for me. I devoured it in just a few hours. The story-line was so much fun and so entertaining. The characters were easy to relate to and made you feel like you’ve know them forever. This story is filled with just the right amount of drama, romance and steamy moments. There was also a few surprising twists thrown in along the way. Thea and Xander’s story took my emotions for one heck of a ride and enjoyed every moment of it.

What a great, sweet, sexy story line. Thea has known Xander all her life. He’s her brother’s best friend but he’s also been her friend too. There’s always been something between them. Now after a night in Vegas they are married & Thea wants it annulled but Xander wants her to give them a chance. The couple goes through a lot of ups & downs trying to hide their relationships from their friends & families while trying to make it work for themselves. What a great guy Xander was always loving & wanting to protect Thea & do what’s right as a husband. Thea was too concerned & afraid of what her brother will do to her & Xander when he found out about their marriage. The characters suck you in and I couldn’t put it down. There’s some family drama besides the two main characters hiding their marriage that makes this whole story have more depth to it than just a love story. Fabulous addition to book one! -read by RazzReader with Pop Fizz Clink Read

I was so excited to read this book but I got a bit disappointed. Everyone was talking about how great this book will be but I was not so captivated by it. Sadly. I wish I could have warmed up to the characters sooner but the story couldn't always hold my attention. It got better closer to the end though. The writing was good and I believe when I was younger I would have loved it, though it was just not enough for me. The story was turning in a circle for a while and it was dragging for a bit. It was still a really nice read though, just a bit too long. The Story: When Thea wakes up in a hotel bed next to Xander in Vegas she is shocked to see a wedding ring on both of their fingers. Even though she had a crush on Xander since they were kids, she never thought they would end up being together because her brother would so not approve of them. The first thing she wants to do now is get divorced though Xander has other plans. Xander got told so often by Thea's brother to keep his hands off her. While last night might have gotten out of hands, he doesn't regret finally being able to call Thea his. He wanted her for so long and now that he has her, he is not giving up without a good fight even though Thea is determined to get a divorce, he settles a deal with her to give him this summer to prove her that this was not a mistake and that they belong together. Thoughts: I couldn't warm up to the characters until almost to the end. The story was well written and had a good flow though sometimes it felt a bit dragging and some aspects of the story just didn't make sense to me. I still didn't understand why they were so scared of her brother? I would be scared as hell to tell my parents that I got married so young to a guy I didn't even date. Though it didn't seem that big of a problem to Thea or Xander and for their age and the sudden marriage it felt like no big deal to anyone. Since both wanted each other for a long time now it was no real challenge for them to be married either. I think if one of them hated the other it would have been a lot more fun but I guess that was not what the author had in mind. I can't say that I hated this story but it couldn't always hold my attention and my mind often drifted up while reading which is sad because this book sounded so promising. This was my first read by this author and I will definitely give another book of her a shot though I hope it will be more capturing than this one. -- I received an ARC of this book from Give Me Books Promotions in exchange for an honest review. --
