About the Author

Gabrielle Harbowy lives in the San Francisco Bay area with two black cats who are named after chocolate and a significant other who is not.

Her experiences in publishing inspired her to transform her love of books and her attention to detail into an editing career. In 2006, with six years' experience in the publishing field, she left the corporate world and struck out on her own as a full-time editor.

Gabrielle is an Affiliate member of Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA). She edits for publishers including Pyr Books, and is a staff proofreader for Lambda Literary. In addition to her independent editing work, she is also Managing Editor at Dragon Moon Press, where she oversees the submissions and editing processes. She has edited for aspiring and first-time authors, New York Times Bestsellers, and Hugo Award winners. Books she has acquired and/or edited have gone on to be finalists and winners of Bram Stoker awards, Parsecs, and ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year awards.

In her free time, Gabrielle is a pianist and an award-nominated writer of short fiction. She is currently teaching herself to play the harp.

Ed Greenwood (born 1959) is a Canadian writer and editor who created the Forgotten Realms. He invented the Forgotten Realms as a child, as a fantasy world in which to set the stories he imagined, and later used this world as a campaign setting for his own personal Dungeons & Dragons playing group. He began writing articles about the Forgotten Realms for Dragon magazine beginning in 1979, and he sold the rights to the setting to TSR in 1986. Greenwood has written many more articles and D&D game supplement books for the setting, and has written Forgotten Realms novels as a freelance author.
