Brother and sister Connie and Charlie, with the help of a magical pottery wheel, travel back in time to WWII. This was an enjoyable and quick read but had me scratching my head at the end. I did't really get it. It seemed to end abruptly and I didn't really get the purpose of then travelling back in time. In the end their house which was a risk of being torn down is saved and and Malcolm who follows them to the past was travels further back only to stay there and age, in which state he is found on a subsequent visit. This whole part of the plot seems unnecessary. Also while not really needed i wanted an explanation of why Connie was in a wheel chair. There was a passing mention of equestrian ribbons if i remember correctly was there an accident? Supposedly there is a sequel and a larger plot was revealed. It may have benefited from being a longer novel instead of two or however many are planned.
