I enjoyed the 2nd book of the Unexpected Magic Series more than the first although I did like the first one too. What I liked was the magic element. I think this is the first time I've read of the ability of affect people through voice and both the hero and heroine has this ability but it is used in a vastly different manner. I thought it was really very interesting and very well portrayed in both characters. And I totally loved both Erran and Celeste. Both have their ideals and really want to make a difference. I think they are a really great match. Found myself laughing very often reading this book as it had many funny scenes, especially with Erran's brother, Duncan aka Marquess of Ashford. Really can't wait to read more of this series. ** I received an ARC of this book from the author in return for my honest review **

This is another delightful Unexpected Magic book from Patricia Rice. This time the magic is done with voices. It is the story of Erran, who we met in the first book, and Celeste and her family from Jamaica. My favorite characters from the first book make a grand appearance in this book. I loved that Celeste was willing to fight for her independence. She is strong, fierce and loyal. I enjoy sewing so working that into the book was fun. Erran loves gadgets and tinkering with mechanical items. He was definitely a geek for his time. I don't want to give the plot away, only that the magic is fun and believable and it involves love. I highly recommend it!

Whisper of Magic by Patricia Rice is book 2 in her "Unexpected Magic" series. While it can be read as a stand alone, I would suggest reading Book 1 as well. Intrigue, adventure, mystical, with some magical moments and a sweet romance, makes for an interesting read. I enjoyed the main characters very much, as they learn to trust each other, learn to use their magical powers, and their blossoming romance. Fans of magical romance, with paranormal elements, and the power of finding love and acceptance, will enjoy this exciting, enjoyable and satisfying read. Highly recommended! I look forward to Ms. Rice's next endeavor into the magical world of "Unexpected Magic". A fun and sweet romance! Received for an honest review from the author. All opinions are my own. I was again privileged to receive an ARC of this story and now you can get your copy too. We are learning more about the Ives including why Erran leaves his promising legal career. His chemistry with Celeste and her own demons prove to be a delightful mix of push and pull between these two characters who are each devoted to family.

Received this ARC for an honest review. This book is filled with trials, tribulations, determination, fun, strength, magic and much, much more. It's a lengthy/slow read, but worth it when it comes to this family. I can't wait for "Theory of Magic"! I wonder who's story that will be? Read this series and stay tunes to experience more magic!

Erran had an incident in court that keeps him from trying cases in court. Celeste came to England from Jamaica with her brother and sister. Their father died on the way to England and left them without much money and no connections in England. She tried to contact several people, but no luck. Turns out some distant relative has taken control of all their assets so he can use their money to get himself out of debt. Erran is trying to figure out what to do with the family and get his brother to London. He also is trying to keep his attraction to Celeste under control since he doesn't have a permanent residence or a job. He has nothing to offer her. So, he will help her get her family assets back and let her go. Maybe.

This is the second book in the series about how the Ives brothers find love - this is Erran's story. This was another splendid sorry by Ms Rice incorporating her version of magic. I loved how he and Celeste had the same abilities but that they couldn't influence each other. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and, no spoilers, some of the the scenes in the book are so funny that I was almost laughing out loud! Go ahead and try this book, it's a real treat. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

Patricia Rice has created another marvelous romance in the second book of the Unexpected Magic Series set in 1830’s England. Once again one of the Ives brothers falls for a Malcom sister and it is…magic! Erran is the third son and a barrister who is afraid to use his voice. He is on a mission to get his brother, the Marquess of Ashford, back to London and once again a productive member of society. In his maneuverings he runs across Celeste Malcolm Rochester, recently from Jamaica. She has arrived with siblings and servants only to find that what she expected was oh so different than it should be due to a conniving relative wishing to take all of her family inheritance. The family is grand, the intrigues supreme, the action plentiful and the romance delightful. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next in the series! Thank you to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. 4.5 Stars
