There was plenty of action in this supernatural crime novel as Zoe, the Wiccan clairvoyant who is helping the police track down a serial killer takes on the (very, very, very bad) bad guy. With the detective work, visions, magic, and fight-scenes, the story really doesn't ever slow down. I sometimes like a lot of suspense, and this book has plenty of it. Zoe also finds a couple of love interests along the way to add a little spice to the story which I can also get into :-) The book was really easy to read without any mistakes to get in the way. I liked the writing style. I got the book free in exchange for an unbiased review but it is certainly one I would have paid for!
I think this is the fifth novel I've read recently that is published by Evolved Publishing, and every single one of them has impressed me with high standards of story editing, proofreading, and sheer enjoyment value. Whispers of the Dead was no different. Prepare yourself for a world where clairvoyants really are helpful to police investigations because magic, shifters, and other sundry paranormal elements really do exist, and everyone knows all about them. Of course, there are always those who don't like what they don't understand and will do anything to get rid of the Wicca, the primary practitioners of magick. The story follows Zoe, a talented clairvoyant as she attempts to piece together who is responsible for a series of brutal murders. Along the way, she develops (often surprising) supportive relationships as she selflessly presses on despite the danger to herself. There's a little mystery, a little romance, and a lot of suspense and magick. Recommended if you like an action-packed paranormal tale. I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I absolutely loved this book! The characters were well developed and the story was engaging. I can't wait until the next book comes out.
I couldnt put it down....the characters pull you in and keep you wanting to read more. Cant wait for the next book!
Loved, loved, loved it!!!!!
A good read that sucked me right in at the begining and kept me until the very end. I really enjoyed the characters and Zoe's interactions with all of them. It's a modern good vs evil story that I personally couldn't put down. The book is based heavily in the Wiccan religion but explains the driving force behind every choice that Zoe makes based on her beliefs and keeping the balance between wanting to protect the ones she cares about and not violating Wicca. I am eagerly waiting for book two in the series.
