I actually really enjoyed this book. The title is misleading a little bit. It was a little surprising what kind of creature the "villian" was. It is similar to Jaws, but Benchley always has so many marine factoids in his stories, I don't care. Is that a bad thing? I guess it depends on how much you like him.

I came across this after surprising myself by really enjoying Jaws. But this is just pulp horror for people who like the genre I suppose.

Not bad, from the man who created Jaws. I loved the monster though, very cool. I liked the main character, Simon Chase, because of his interest in marine biology which I take a small interest in as well. Overall, very good, but a little boring at some point, just a tad.

The book White Shark, was very well written. I am not really one for too much Sci-Fi, but this book was great and filled with plenty of action. The story was very believable and not too high-tech. Also the main charactor, Simon Chase, was a marine biologist which I am very interested in. If you are not interested in marine life then this is not the book for you. If you enjoyed the movie Jaws, also by Peter Benchley, you will appreciate this book very much. I would recommend this book to any one who enjoys marine life and alot of suspense.

This was a great read. It kept you to the book throughout the whole story. Very injoyable for those who like sea / small fishing town stories. Definately thrilling at times but has a great contrast between the scares and the plot. Definately one of Peter's best.

This book was encredably enthrilling. I am 16 years old,and am a great Benchley fan. This book enspired me to try to write a book like he does.

I first read this book in 1994 killing time and waiting for my day to exit South Korea after a year. The book was actually given to me by a friend who had read it. He recommended I read it since I was (still am) so interested in sharks. Thinking it was about Great White Sharks or 'NIUHI' as we call it in Hawaii which stands for Man Eater. I said sure, I'll read it. Needless to say I couldn't hardly put the book down. Cover to cover on my spare time the book was read. LOved it and now looking to get it again just to read it for a third time.

This book was amazing. I couldn't put it down. It combined Benchleys excellent Sci-fi writing skills with sheer terror. I gave it 5 stars because it is probably the best book I've ever read. I strongly suggest you read this book if you like sci-fi.

This is a great thriller.......more fun than Jaws! This creature is intelligent and fearsome! If you are a diver, it will give you something to think about on those dives where there just isn't much to see........

If you were scared by JAWS, prepare to wet your pants! IF you thought a shark was scary, imagine a killer shark that was created by man during World War two by a NAZI mad scienctist! This book is very scary, very good, and totally worth every cent!

I loved this book, I could not put it down...until I got to the end. The end kinda dissapointed me. But all in all a great book, highly recommended for fans of Benchley, suspense, or even history or biology!

White shark is truly an awesome book. It is fast paced, rich in detail, and most of all, suspenseful. The villain in this is like our familiar, toothy friend from the previous Bencheley book, only far more sinister. If you plan to go to the beach and catch up on your reading, then this is one book you should certainly include. It will definitely make you think twice about leaping into the cold, dark ocean.
