I am sure author thought the "cute" idea of including handwritten letters was unique. Problem is she did not check to see if they would be legible to readers. Warning: they do not enlarge wern you enlarge print size so they are basically unreadible. I am sure they probably include significant plot points or insight into the characters, but pity, I will never know.

I had a hard time believing the same author wrote this book. I only recommend the first two books in this series. Annoying AF.

Wow edgy scary (at times) raw I've lived this serious waiting for more. Liked how you "domesticated" both Black and Jake but still left them their edge when necessary. Thank you!!

Jake so deserves to find happiness. He sees himself as broken having survived a rough childhood and torture. With his best friend back in his life, he’s not sure how he fits into their world going from the one Rose leaned on to just being the friend. Even the MC doesn’t keep his interest. Then he sees Addy, a woman that doesn’t fall at his feet. Someone with her own broken past that is like a kindred spirit. Addy is surprised by Jake’s compassion and caring. The rough exterior she sees doesn’t fit the loyal man that would do anything for someone he cares about. As their stories collide, we find out that they are connected in some crazy, twisted ways. Is there any chance for them to find a path to happiness? Fabulously complex road to redemption and love. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

The 3rd book in the Black series focuses all on Jake. I loved Jake so much so I’m glad he got his own book. This book picks up from Jake’s standpoint after he left Black and Rose in book #2. We also get flashbacks that help us see things from book #1 from Jake’s perspective. We are also introduced to Addy, Jake’s love interest. I enjoy the connection that Addy and Jake share and I think that their story was written very well. There is still mystery in how they are connected. The book takes us all the way through their love story. There are a few pieces at the end of the book that I think could have been omitted without any real change in the story but overall it was a great book. I’m glad that Jake got a HEA just like Black and Rose did.

No doubt that I love the series but White, it hit me hard and I loved it! This was such a beautiful and amazing novel TL. It was raw. It was emotional. It has me on the edge of my seat. I loved it. In White, we are told Jake's story. His story. Oh man! It hit me really hard. I'm sitting her writing my review, really trying what to say. It's hard to say. Reading White just made me feel something different from any of the other books in the series. It made me hurt for Jake. All the darkness in his life, now explained. We are also introduced to Addy. Could say she was Jake's saviour in a way. I loved her character and how her story complimented Jake's. Can't say much about Addy because I just really loved Jake. It was a great end to the series, it was an emotional end and I cant stop saying I loved the books especially this one. Congratulations TL and thank you for writing Jake's story. It was amazing to read his story.

3.5 Stars I felt like Jake was definitely a puzzle left unsolved when we met him in Black and Red. Though I wasn’t completely sure what to expect, I was really looking forward to reading his story. One thing I did know was that I wasn’t going to get sunshine and roses when it came to Jake. He’s too mysterious for that. I did expect his story to be dark and gritty. I did get that to an extent. I thought the idea behind Jake and Addy’s story was great but it was a little rushed and a bit repetitive at times. Jake’s broken and he embraces that pain and suffering that he was dealt. My heart hurt for him and what he went through. I’m glad that we finally got to see glimpses into his past. I was really able to connect on an emotional level with him and the pain he endured. I didn’t really get that connection with Addy. Her life is pretty twisted as I expect when it comes to TL Smith and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I think I just needed a little more depth when it came to her character. That being said I do admire the decision she made to better herself so that she was able to move forward, putting herself first no matter how she felt when it came to her and Jake’s situation.

I was really looking forward to this book. I wanted more of Jake after Red. This was a fast read for me. I finished the book in less than a day. I liked getting a little bit of his background and seeing what happened to him but at the same time, I was a little disappointed. It might be my fault for building up Jake. Addy was interesting and I wish I had a little bit more of her back story. She was strong in that she didn't put up with a lot of Jake's issues but she never pushed him away because of them. I know that sounds weird but there were some things that she just put Jake in his place but she never held his past against him. Jake was Jake. If you read Black and Red then you know that Jake is pretty funny. He does have some of his comic relief in this book but honestly Black had more than Jake in this one. He was straight forward with Addy and I did like him for it. I liked the book but I felt like it was a little rushed. I definitely enjoy Black and Red more but this book is a solid 4 stars out of 5. I think it was a good end to the series and wraps up nicely. You do need to read Black and Red before White.

Oh she's done it again!? Another incredible book from TL Smith!! I fell in love with Black and Rose's story and I was beyond excited we get to hear Jake's story in White. He's broken.... and tired.... After becoming Pres in his father's place, Jake has stepped in, yet he's not stepping up. Drowning himself in a bottle, not caring about anything, letting his rage and anger consume him. Until Addy... These two have quite a bit of secrets and history to deal with, and Addy has found a way to bury her way into his heart, slowly replacing the not so secret love he has always felt for Rose... This book had everything, leaving me in a roller coaster of emotions but in the end I was so happy for Jake and Addy and what they accomplish together. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended book, series & author!!
