Overview
Children need to know the facts! This delightfully illustrated, informative text deals with how life has changed through the COVID-19 pandemic. With explanatory visuals, children get to understand how the pandemic is spread, what precautions we must take and why, and the definition of many new words they are hearing, such as “social distancing.” It validates their feelings and brings them comfort in knowing that all of us, young and old, are asking the same questions and sharing the same feelings. It will also assist parents, caregivers, and educators in having honest discussions about the COVID-19 pandemic with their children and students.
It is a great gift and addition to any school and personal library.

About the Author
Children are my passion! I have been an educator for over 50 years and have worked with students at all educational levels – from 2 ½ years old in diapers to graduating university seniors. Educated at the Bronx High School of Science in NYC, with a BA and MA in education from Hunter College of the City University of NY, I have honed my craft with experience in both suburban and inner-city teaching, with the majority of my career in the inner city. My dedication is to “making a difference” in the lives of my students. Always in search of a better way to help children learn, I went back to Columbia Teacher’s College and was trained as a reading specialist in a multi-sensory program created to assist children with language-based reading difficulties, such as dyslexia. I taught this in the public schools of Paterson, as well as tutoring privately, a calling that I still pursue. One of my greatest honors was when one of my former kindergarten student recognized me in “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.” Another highlight of my career has been helping to open “HOPE SCHOOL”– a preschool in Machakos, Kenya (2010). Being on the Core Team, I spent 2 weeks in this little village bringing books and supplies, teaching in the preschool and other government schools, and meeting with the community, district officials, and local teachers. This was truly a “life changing” experience! I am still highly involved with the school and am now celebrating the college graduation of a young lady I have put through school since my visit. I continue to be involved in the lives of many of my former students, participating in graduations, weddings, and birth of babies all their own. Teaching is my calling and children are my passion. I am hoping that the world will be better because "I made a difference in the life of a child."
