Overview

"Mihaela Modorcea creates a poetry of ideas, visionary, but laden with passion and carnal force, a force that only the ephebic age can bud forth."
"Mihaela Modorcea reinvents language itself, in that she looks for the 'other' way of naming things, as Plato said in his Cratylus dialogue."
"In Mihaela Modorcea's verses there lies a theatricality of Shakespearean origin, an air of northern poetry, a steam from Ibsen and Strindberg; her verses are a leaven of Puck's fantasy."

About the Author

Mihaela Modorcea is an American Romanian-born actress, writer, singer, songwriter, dancer, and painter. She graduated with honors from the "National University of Theatrical Arts & Cinematography" in Bucharest, having played, along with her multi-talented identical twin sister Gabriela, the lead character in the award-winning musical "The Two Orphans", Bucharest, 2006.
Mihaela and Gabriela’s roots are in the magical land of Transylvania.
Their father, Grid Modorcea, is a writer of 100 books and a filmmaker; he has a PhD in arts. Their mother, Violeta, has a PhD in comparative theatre. Their brother, Vlad, is a game producer.
Gabriela is the Wicked Clone who has inspired Mihaela to write her cinema novel "Wicked Clone or how to deal with the evil" – a story of a vampire bitten by a human being, a healing fairy tale full of music and paintings.
For the first time the heroes of a novel are heroes in real life, attempting to change the world just like the characters are trying to.
Mihaela Modorcea is also the author of the poetry book "Rage and Love", of the cinema play "Wicked Clone or how to deal with the evil", of the poetry book "Wicked Clone or how to get reborn", of the "Wicked Clone The Cinema Musical".
The cinematic play "Wicked Clone", based on Mihaela’s "Wicked Clone cinema novel", debuted on off Broadway at the prestigious "Ensemble Studio Theatre", under the direction of Jamie Richards, starring Mihaela and Gabriela as authors, composers, performers and choreographers.
After having seen their Wicked Clone performance, "Imagem", the world’s largest independent music publisher, signed them on the spot.
"Wicked Clone the cinema musical" has seen the light on the stages of "Lynn Redgrave Theater", "Elektra Theatre", "Laurie Beechman Theatre", "St. Luke's Theatre", "Davenport Theatre", "American Theatre Of Actors", finding the most beatific and enthusiastic audience ever.
Mihaela and Gabriela aka Indiggo Twins have also written and produced over 250 songs, 25 of which are included on the "Wicked Clone cinematic music album".
Along with her twin sister Gabriela, Mihaela is featured and credited as writer and performer on Jay-Z & Kanye West’s multi-platinum and four times Grammy award-winning album "Watch The Throne", on the song "Murder To Excellence", which is widely considered and reviewed as "the centerpiece of the album".
