I knew from gazing longingly at the cover (the male portion of it in particular) that I would find some swoon in this book. I knew after reading what the book was about that I would enjoy the story behind that freaking gorgeous cover (again, the male portion of it in particular). Then I looked through Angeline’s idea board on pinterest, and knew I would be wishing like crazy that Dallas was a real person. But then people, I learned that The. Best. Movie. Made. Ever. (also known as Dirty Dancing) played a part in this book and knew without a doubt that this would be a top New Adult read for me. As it turns out, I couldn’t be more right on all of these counts. We meet Carmyn right at one of the hardest points in her life. She has just found her fiancé cheating on her. This was the guy she trusted, loved, and planned on spending her life with, the same guy that was there for her when she dealt with some tough family times but was so quick to hurt her for no reason at all. After a much-needed grieving period, Carmyn decides it’s time for her to do something out of character. She has always worked hard, studied hard, and made the right decisions so a night of letting go is just the type of thing to get her out of her slump. This leads her to the one and only Dallas. Dallas happens to be the campus’ residential hottie and bad boy. He likes to keep his distance, drives a motorcycle, has tattoos, and sleeps with whoever he wants whenever he wants. But hiding behind all of that is a guy who is broken-hearted and hurt over what his father did years before. Just like how their lifestyles are hiding what they’re truly feeling, this one night for them proves to be much more than they each expected. While on the surface this story follows some of the more popular characteristics of NA novels like the bad boy, the good girl, and an unlikely romance, it in fact proved to be much more than that. Carmyn and Dallas each proved to be easy-to-like, complex characters with their own set of problems and issues to work through over the course of the book while also balancing an unconventional relationship considering they’re more like acquaintances with benefits than anything else. But the more time they spend together the more they learn they can be there for one another and are actually more alike than they may seem. Dallas works hard to get Carmyn to open her heart to him which is difficult considering she keeps that sh*t on lock. On the flip-side, Carmyn pushes Dallas to work through issues with his dad and his half-brother despite how much he tries to ignore her help. Despite all of the tougher parts of this book it is actually full of lots of fun. Dallas and Carmyn learn to let go together. From the banter to the dart playing to the motorcycle altering to the girly movie watching and even to the Dirty Dancing reenacting, this book was full of small but sweet moments that had me grinning. Another fun part of this book? Well the swoon and sexy times of course! It’s no secret I love when a bad boy is caught off guard and frazzled by a girl. This is certainly the case with Dallas and Carmyn. I love, love, LOVED watching these two fall for each other. The attraction was there from the very beginning but the other, deeper feelings were like a fire slowly gaining heat and intensity as the story went on. There is no doubt in my mind that many, many other readers will fall for Dallas and Carmyn’s story as much as I did. Sure it may seem like the classic bad boy falls for the good girl love story but it proved to be much more than that. With a special knack for writing dual points of view, a whole lot of sweet moments and swoon, and realistic characters, Angeline Kace created a New Adult romance I am going to suggest you give a try!

4 SWEET STARS! Wicked Thing is an quick, entertaining, and heartwarming story about two people with wounds from the past who begin to heal though each other. It was so easy to read, and I enjoyed it the whole way through. Everything about it gets a solid 4 stars for me–the writing, the characters, the dialogue... it was all really good and fun to read. The characters all had their own personality and were all really likable. Carmyn had a sad past and was set in her own ways, which was understandable, but she was still able to move on and have fun. Like all female main characters, she did do something that I didn't like, but unlike all female main characters, she had an understandable reason. Besides that she was really nice, caring, funny. "If sex could talk, it would sound like Dallas"  Dallas was a nice toned down alpha male. Protective and sexy, but also sweet and fun. I liked that from the beginning he didn't see Carmyn as just another girl, and he was always so sweet towards her. He was also damn sexy! There are a few sex scenes in the book, and for a quick read they were really good! He had a sad past as well, and like Carmyn, he did something I didn't like, but also like Carmyn, it was completely understandable. I was so glad that the main mistakes the characters made in this book weren't due to stupidity or miscommunications! And Carmyn and Dallas were so cute together! I loved that they were always so happy and had fun whenever they were together. The side characters were great too, and I'm glad we get their story in the next book. Carmyn and Ava's friendship was hilarious and sweet and they had a great genuine bond. And I really liked Denton, he was sweet and misunderstood and I just wanted to give him a hug! Like I said, everything was a solid 4 stars. The writing was very good, the storyline, while simple, kept me interested, and the characters were easily likable. The only thing I didn't like is that the story seemed a little short and I wanted more! *I received an ARC for an honest review*

Carmyn is a college student who, because her mother cheated, had planned out her romantic life as she had little trust. Her best friend was Ava. Carmyn meets Dallas and everything changes, even though he had been a playboy. I loved the struggles and the triumphs both Carmyn and Dallas went through to find love. It was a great story with a great plot and characters. I highly recommend to anyone that likes this genre. **I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review

I liked it. It was nothing too spectacular. It was a good, quick read that was enjoyable for the most part. It's sticking with the same theme most NA books do though. Guy with a notorious reputation getting with a girl that's the opposite. At least we know about their background's in the beginning unlike most. The story was told between Dallas and Carmyn (which because of the spelling, I kept on wanting to call her Camryn). They were likable throughout the book...well I take that back. Carmyn had that pushy moment when I didn't like her. Other than that, they were great. I liked how the at the ending, it completed their story. There is nothing left to keep guessing at or anything. So if you want a book that won't take long and has some sexy time, this is the book. *I received this book from NetGalley*

Review based on copy provided by Ascendo Press and Netgalley. Thank you for the opportunity! A contemporary romance circles around two individuals who are finding love after being hurt by loved ones; unfortunately, not even the steamy romance could keep me interested. Plot: Poor Camryn, she literally walks in on her boyfriend in the act and decides to loosen up at a local bar. After tossing back a few drinks, she ends up in the arms (and bed) of notorious player, Dallas Brown. There are no crazy twists in turns in this one, Cam and Dallas have sex, they start hanging out, and then they start to fall in love. I had no qualms with the storyline, but there was no crazy reveals to make my clutch the book in anticipation. In fact, everything felt routine.  Characters: Unfortunately, the characters are where Wicked Thing lost me. I didn't believe in Camryn and Dallas' love affair mostly because I didn't understand them as characters. I had (and still don't) no idea what their personalities were- what made them tick. Even though this book was written from both perspectives, I didn't feel an attachment to any of them. This is mostly because the two main characters seemed to lose their distinct voice (if they had one to begin with) every now and then. If a character is portrayed as a tough player who doesn't date, I don't see why he would start confiding all of his dark secrets to Camryn within 80 pages, it just doesn't work for character development. And Camryn....she's just....there.  Setting: Wicked Thing takes place in Texas (and that poor boy's name is Dallas!) but the only way I know we're in Texas because the characters kept making remarks about how hot it was. There were many times that I forgot what school (and what state) we were in until someone reminded me by making some remark about being a Texan or about the brutal Texas heat.  Short N Sweet: Wicked Thing is your run-of-the-mill new adult romance with two characters who are just not believable. I'm sorry to say that this book was not for me.

I was able to get into this book. The author did a very good job of building a world with her words.

I loved, loved, loved this book. It was everything I could ever want in a romance novel. I laughed out loud alot and I cried like a baby. There's happyness, sadness, anger and hate. The characters are perfect. I fell instantly fell in love with Dallas. The sexual chemistry between Dallas and Carmyn is amazing. They are two suffering souls who need eachother to live but they just have to figure that out. Ava has got to be the best friend ever. She cracked me up. I highly recommend this book to everyone. I think I just found a new favorite author in Ms. Kace.

Sweet, quick read. 190ish pages. The book was good and I loved that Dirty Dancing was an element in the story. I wish Kace would've expanded on parts of the story. Various little tidbits could've been more detailed and allowed us to see more of how it was in Kace's head. I loved the playfullness, the charm, and the sweetness of Dallas.

Loved this book! I didn't want to put it down!

It felt really rushed. It felt like someone hit fast forward during key character building and relationship building parts of the book. Several times I felt like the author could have expanded on the characters and story. Has the making of a great story but fell short for me. Did like story being told from his and her pov. Quick read.

Wicked Thing is a beautiful story about two people who should not be together, but end up creating a beautiful love story. Angeline Kace must have secretly gone to Hogwarts, because she had created magic with Wicked Thing. The tension and attraction between Carmyn and Dallas is well written and believable, where in other novels it sometimes seems a little forced.  Carmyn is a responsible college student who due to her mother’ betrayal has become a bit of a control freak. Dallas is a playboy who has never been in a relationship and he is not looking for one. Carmyn’s personal pain has embedded into her character and the same can be said for Dallas. When these two broken people have a casual encounter, they get more than they bargained.   Wicked Thing is not just a contemporary romance story, but also one of healing. I think that is really the beauty of the story, and what makes it such an excellent read. Wicked Thing is a truly enjoyable read. I got so into the story I lost track of time, and what was happening around me. I am almost sure that if my house had caught fire I would not have even noticed. A true sign of a must read story. Meeting all the character in Wicked Thing, I am excited to get to see Denton’s story in the next installment. I am also looking forward to see where his story is going to go and seeing familiar faces.

This book was received from Inkslinger PR in exchange for an honest review. Who doesn’t love a bad, bad boy? Not me for sure! I really like Camryn. She was really strong after she found out her ass-hat of a boyfriend cheated on her. I absolutely cannot stand girls who wallow in self-pity after a bad relationship. I like strong girls who can stand on their own. I also really liked that she didn’t immediately jump into relationship with Dallas. She don’t need no man to complete her, but Dallas was a perfect fit. Dallas was the epitome of sexy. He is tattooed, drives a motorcycle, and doesn’t care what anyone else thinks of him. He has not had a good family life growing up, and the only person he can count on is his mom. He is considered a man whore around campus and he does not want any relationships with any of those girls. Until him meets Camryn that is. I loved how much she changed him. She helped him open up and also to learn forgiveness. I honestly think that without Camryn, he would have been an extremely lonely guy. Ava, Camryn’s best friend, was great. I loved how supportive she was Camryn after her boyfriend cheated on her. She just kept saying how small of a weiner he had. I giggled a lot. I also liked Denton, which I was extremely surprised about when I figured out who he was. I don’t wanna say who he is but he is an important part of the book in regards to Dallas’s story. And his story is next, so I can’t wait for that! The plot hurried along fast, as it is not a super long book, and I was engaged the whole time. The romance was really cute and sexy, but I kinda wish that their relationship would have developed just a smidgen more before they rushed into things. I just had a kind of hard time connecting. All in all, I really enjoyed the steam factor in this book. Dallas made sure of that! This was a pretty great NA book, and I look forward to more of Angeline Kace. Favorite Swoon-worthy Quote: Dallas runs his hand down my leg and pulls it up over his hip. I allow him to mold me to him. The heat coursing though my body and building between my legs has me eager for whatever he’s willing to give me. He tugs on my standing leg, and I give it to him, wrapping my legs around his hips. He props me up against the wall next to the door and ravages my mouth with kisses so passionate, I’m moaning against his tongue. I’m utterly lost in him. Rating: 4/5 Tar Heels!

I loved how real this story felt. It wasn't the most dramatic or emotional or suspenseful, but sometimes it is just so comforting to read a book that is just enjoyable for being what it is. Carmyn (who in my head was Camryn until about halfway in - I don't know why) had a rough few years that get rougher when she finds her almost-fiance to be cheating on her. Dallas has always watched Carmyn from afar, and isn't going to let her newly single-status stay that way for long. I expected more angst from how it all began, but I was not expecting the incredibly sweet courtship from "bad boy" Dallas that we got. It was so refreshing to read, and I look forward to Denton's story next.

I love, love, LOVE this book! Wicked Thing is not what I expected. It is so much BETTER. Really, I was kind of expect some Young adult angst story but what I got was a fantastic romance story with the perfect journey of love, heartache, and discovery leading to my favorite...HEA. Their story reads like a great  roller coaster ride and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was hooked from the first page reading Wicked Thing in one sitting and I'm sure so will you. Get ready ladies because here is you next book boyfriend. Meet Dallas! He's sexy, hot tattooed and overall DELISH! *Pauses to sigh* Ok...I'm back. Really ladies he's a bad boy but not a bad person. I love a guy with tats but then need to have meaning and each of Dallas' do. My personal favorite is the shark (read the book to find out why). Carmyn (don't you just love that spelling!) is the opposite of Dallas - A good girl with her life all planned out. That is until she catches her Mr. Right banging Ms. Skanky Wrong. Of course after being a good girl for so long she decides to be bad...with bad boy no-commitment Dallas. You can tell from the get go these two are perfect together. Everything about them screams couple and when they finally together...purr! What a ending! Now for some no spoiler details. The sex scenes are perfectly written. Just enough details to keep it hot without being over the top smutty. The development of their relationship feels like a natural evolution without feeling rushed. The pacing of the whole story is very smooth. I love how the main characters are two beautiful souls each damaged from their shared childhood experiences. Each dealing with their pains in their own ways yet finding a way to over coming it and be together. Their journey is a beautiful that at times had my laughing out loud and other times sobbing. My only regret, you can only read a book for the first time once and I can't experience this book again like I just did. Author Angeline Kace (who is quite the sweety) has done a outstanding job creating this wonderful book. Now the tortuous wait for her next book has begun. Wicked Thing is most definitely a book worth reading and I have alreay started recommending it to all my friends. One more thing...I absolutely LOVE the cover! I received this book from JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated. Stars – 5 Flames – 3

This book for me was a really quick romantic read, I really enjoyed the characters, and the setting at college was perfect. I think that it was a pretty accurate portrayal of that that type of college life would be like with the parties that everyone went to, the frat houses and sorties.  My favourite character was actually one of the secondary characters Ava, she was so much fun, and I would love to have her as a friend! Carmyn and Dallas both have issues from their past that they need to get over, and it seems that with help from each of them, they can together. Carmyn is the one that stands in their way though, I will be honest in saying that I would growl at her actions a few times during the book and want to smack her. Dallas is more of a sweetheart than he wants everyone to believe, he sticks up for Carmyn when someone is trying to put her down, he makes sure that she is always taken care of. He lets everyone think what they want, especially when it comes to how many girls he has slept with. The one side of him that I like the most is his artistic ability, and how he does not let it go to his head, and he does not seem to understand how brilliant he really is. Overall this gets a 4/5 from me, it was not perfect, but it was a really good romance. I would suggest it for anyone that likes the NA genre, it is a good addition for sure!

Many times I choose a book, it's because the cover catches my eye. And although the woman on the cover is gorgeous, the man just looks creepy.
