Meet the Author

Author to Widower’s Aura, Always Mine, and Finding love at the falls…. I’m a military wife and mother to three girls seven and under. Prior to these roles I lived in Florida where I attended the University of Central Florida. I received my Masters of Science in Criminal Justice and Bachelors of Science in Psychology. A decade later and I haven’t used either. Writing a book was never a goal of mine, funny how life works out sometimes. I thought I would work for one of the many agencies that specialize in justice. Instead I decided to focus on a family once we married. When I’m not shuttling my daughters around, you can find me at my laptop. I hope you enjoy my books as much as I enjoyed writing them.

First, thanks to the author, A.J. Renee for reaching out to me about this book. I accepted a copy for review, as the synopsis sounded like one of the types of books I've been reading lately as e-books. I really was not disappointed. There are two main characters really, Sofia and Noah. Sofia has just moved away from the city of New Orleans to a smaller town nearby, St. Fleur. She was a juvenile probationary officer there, and she just got to the point where she needed to get away. And so she is opening a photography business in the small town. A couple years after she's been there, and has an established business, there is a new guy in town that attracts Sofia's attention from the first time she sees him. Noah has just moved to town also, he recently lost his wife to a violent crime while he was away in the military. He is now with his daughter, and takes on different construction and other types of handy-man jobs. The first time he sees Sofia, he also is immediately affected by her. The two of them are brought together when Noah's daughter Lexi is caught spray painting an orchid on the side of Sofia's building. Now Sofia has a bit of an odd ability, she can see the auras of the people around her, and she can tell from Lexi's aura that she didn't do it maliciously, that she needs some attention and maybe some guidance. And therefore Sofia offers to forgive Lexi's crime if Lexi comes and does volunteer work for her with her photography business. Sofia and Noah continue to be thrown together through dealing with Lexi, as well as the fact that Noah is the next door neighbor of Sofia's best friend Lindsey. The two will find many connections as they become more and more attracted to each other, and both will have to work through their own issues to become a real couple and give in to the love they seem to have for each other. The book started out a little weak, but because I could see the possibility I kept on reading, and it was totally worth it. By the end of the book I was having a lot of trouble putting it down because I needed to know how things were going to turn out. While I feel that the aura business at times was a little bit extra that didn't necessarily need to be part of the story, some of it did work out to add interesting details to certain situations. The sexy scenes were pretty good, and I loved all the best friend characters. In fact, the little excerpt at the end of this book for the next one featuring Lindsey only served to make me very impatient for that book to come out, which isn't until 2017. I definitely will be recommending this as a quick, fun read, with suspense, romance, and definitely steamy scenes in parts. I also enjoyed the New Orleans setting, as I am getting ready to visit the city myself in about a month for the second time.

I loved this book! I am not usually a fan of supernatural/paranormal in a romance novel, but this author took a different approach from the norm of todays vampires and warewolves and I really enjoyed where she went with it. The characters are real and relateable and you fall in love easily with the people in this small town. Sofia and Noah have a beautiful love story. Noah is definitely hot and intimate moments in this book are even hotter! This book was unique and lovely. A very feel good love story that leaves you wanting more! I can not wait to read the next book in the series!

Widower’s Aura by AJ Renee is absolutely amazing. There is romance as well as a shady neighborhood vandal, and a checkered past that resurfaces. I truly loved everything about this book. The characters were developed nicely and their back stories were shared a appropriate times with the flow of the book. I could not put this book down! There seemed to be something going on with every turn the book was taking. Sofia is a social worker turned photographer. She moves to the city of St. Fluer when she changes her occupation. In this new town she meets Noah, the hot next door neighbor to her best friend. This chance meeting happens when his daughter vandalizes the wall of Sofia’s building, from then on out their relationship took off. Noah is a widower who moved himself and his daughter to St. Fluer to escape his family’s constant nagging and worry over how they were coping. When his daughter gets into some trouble he is forced to talk to and be near the one woman he can’t get out of his mind. Starting a relationship with Sofia is tricky, will his daughter be okay with it all? Will the memory of his wife fade? When someone from Sofia’s past comes back to get revenge on her, Noah is beside himself with grief, thinking he is the one that caused this, as well as his wife’s death. Can Sofia pull him out of his grief? Will they be able to have a happily ever after? I want to give so much away and describe everything to pull you into this book with me, but I will refrain from posting any spoilers. I recommend this book one hundred percent if you like this genre, this book is definitely a 5 star book! I have a feeling that Sofia’s best friend Lindsey has a story and I hope there is a second book with that character.
