If you love hot cowboy romances, then you will enjoy Blake and Allie's story. Carolyn Brown writes amazing sexy cowboy romances. This story takes place on a ranch in a small Texas town. You can't help but for fall for Blake when he says "Darlin". "Wild Cowboy Ways" by Carolyn Brown is book one in the "Lucky Penny Ranch" series. This is Allie Logan and Blake Dawson's story. I loved this read! It was so much fun watching Blake and Allie's relationship change. Get comfortable because you are not going to want to put this book down. Looking forward to the next book in this series. FYI, includes mature content. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley/Forever (Grand Central Publishing) in exchange for an honest review.

I ABSOLUTELY loved this book. I read it in two days because I just couldn't put it down. Carolyn really knows how to write a contemporary cowboy romance. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone who likes a cowboy romance set in Texas with a Heroine who can hold her own. Two Thumbs Up For This One.

Author Carolyn Brown has the knack for combining hot, sexy cowboys with tender heartwarming scenes to create an entertaining trip to places dreams are made of. Brown takes readers on an intriguing new adventure in her latest release, WILD COWBOY WAYS, the first installment in her new Lucky Penny Ranch series. Cowboy Blake Dawson is looking to shed his wild cowboy reputation and make a go of the ranch he and his brother and cousin bought. He wants the Lucky Penny Ranch to live up to its name, but first it’s going to need a lot of work. Allie Logan is a top-notch carpenter even if she was a terrible wife (according to her ex). She knows she can have the Lucky Penny Ranch house looking like new in no time. What she’s not sure of is how to handle the sexy cowboy owner who has her thinking about things she’d sworn not to think of anymore. Brown brings opposites together and stirs up the romance between them with just the right sizzle. The characters are well-developed and likable. Allie is determined and feisty when it comes to her work, but tender and loving with family while showing a vulnerable side when it comes to her femininity. Blake is strong and sexy while dealing with a reputation he’s ready to shed. The small town atmosphere is inviting even with everyone knowing everyone’s business. The setting is typical of small communities with gossip a hot topic but the residents pulling together when needed. Brown explores many sides of family life with a heartwarming, sometimes humorous, look at how families deal with issues that involve caring for a loved one losing their memory. With vivid descriptions and an eye for detail, Brown can tug on your heartstrings one moment and have you fanning yourself a short time later. Brown builds the tension and the attraction as she weaves a sizzling tale of romance and love. You may know where the story is going, but Brown throws in some interesting twists and fun along the way to hold your attention. WILD COWBOY WAYS is a tantalizing read that flows smoothly and at a steady pace. A plucky female carpenter, a seductive cowboy and a town of zany residents makes this a tale you can’t let go of. This steamy romance is the perfect book to curl up with to take the chill out of the air and warm your heart. FTC Full Disclosure – A copy of this was sent to me by the publisher in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review. The thoughts are completely my own and given honestly and freely.

A sexy and fun cowboy romance set in the small town of Dry Creek, Texas complete with a delightful grandma... “Two women chasing him, ready and waiting for his call and the one that had buts at the end of every sentence was the one who turned him inside him out with a simple kiss.” WILD COWBOY WAYS by Carolyn Brown is a fun cowboy romance set in the small western town of Dry Creek, Texas replete with a delightful, but confused, grandmother. It heralds a great start to the author's new Lucky Penny Ranch series. This first installment is the story of cowboy Blake Dawson AND carpenter Allie Logan. Their attraction was sweet and hot, a perfect combination to keep the reader glued to the book. It worked so well that, despite my best efforts to put the book down and go to sleep, I finally gave up and read it through until almost five am on a work day because I wasn't going to get any rest until I did. As the story opens, we meet some of the colorful characters in Dry Creek. We learn that Blake Dawson, his brother and his cousin have purchased the Lucky Penny Ranch. The ranch's name is a misnomer since most of the town's population seem to think the name Bad Luck Ranch would be more appropriate. On Blake's first night there, a wicked thunderstorm brings the unwelcome news that Blake needs his roof replaced. He needs a roofer sooner rather than later. When he is informed that a talented one resides next door, he's hopeful that he can hire "him" to put a new roof on his home. He soon finds out that the roofer is a woman. Allie has sworn off men after her no-good husband cheated on her and blamed her for his inadequacies. But... when she sees Blake for the first time, sparks fly and her resolve falters for a second. On the other hand, Blake has a well-earned reputation as a sweet-talking player. but he is determined to turn over a new leaf as he makes the Lucky Penny Ranch a viable business in the small community. Unsolicited, he has women falling over him, but his eyes are focused solely on the feisty woman who won't give him a second look. I was mesmerized by the dynamics in the town and at the ranch. This book read like an addictive soap opera with a rich set of characters, heartfelt scenes and alternately humorous and swoon worthy dialogue. The only thing I didn't care for was the way Allie allowed her family - especially her prudish younger sister - to boss her around. Her sister kept telling Allie what she should and shouldn't do - and set Allie up with a scumbag preacher man - and I found it frustrating that Allie couldn't seem to say no and make it stick. Other than that small issue, I loved everything about this story. If you are looking for a book with too-good-to-be-true smokin' hot cowboys, sheets-on-fire chemistry, lots of laughs and a happy ever after ending that will leave your face sore from smiling, then look no further than WILD COWBOY WAYS. I can't wait for the next installment in this series, HOT COWBOY NIGHTS, in which it appears that Allie's sister may get her well-deserved comeuppance - not a tale to be missed! a heartwarming story with some romantic twists and turns as only carolyn brown can write them. the people of dry creek, texas seriously doubted the name the lucky penny would change the luck for the ranch that nobody stayed on and couldn't get to grow prosperous. however the dawson boys have hopes and dreams for this ranch. blake comes first and starts to work , and then meets allie. watching these two people fall in love was humorous as well as romantic. a carolyn brown romance is too good to miss.

Allie Logan has no interest in landing herself a man anytime soon, especially since she is still licking her wounds and trying to move on from the last man she gave her heart to a few years ago. She has more important things to do, like help keep track of her absent minded grandmother, and worrying about keeping her construction business afloat. Adding a man to the mix just really isn't in the cards for her right now, but that doesn't stop her family from continually trying to line up the suitors for her, or stop her eyes from wandering up and down the body of her charming new next door neighbor. When he recruits her to fix his roof, she had no idea he may just be the man to fix her heart too. He is all to eager to win her heart, but she isn't so ready to let the well known playboy in... Blake Dawson is a man on a mission, he is ready to turn over a new leaf, and give up his wild ways for a more respectable lifestyle. First up on his list of things to do is to fix up the ranch his partners and him have purchased, and try and turn it into a profitable business. Next thing is to find himself a respectable young lady to settle down with, and have a family with, which seems more than feasible with all the single ladies welcoming him to town. But none of them seem to have that spark he is looking for... that is until he meets his beautiful neighbor Allie. One look at her and he instantly knows she could be the one to tame him, but finding a way to sweep her off her feet is proving to be a little hard for him, because she isn't in the market for a man... especially one who has the reputation for leaving a trail of broken hearts. This was my first time reading a book by Ms. Brown, and I can say with complete certainty, that it won't be my last! I truly enjoyed every minute I spent reading Allie and Blake's story, and I look forward to the next installment in the series, and some more time spent with Ms. Brown's highly entertaining characters! Definitely one I think that everyone should add to the top of their reading lists...especially if you like smooth talking cowboys! Wild Cowboy Ways kicks off Carolyn Brown’s new Lucky Penny series. The Lucky Penny Ranch should be the Hard Luck Ranch, but three cowboys (two brothers and a cousin) buy it in hopes of making it successful. Blake, the first of the three to arrive in town, makes quite the splash. Known as the wild cowboy, Blake finds the Lucky Penny puts him in the mood to settle down. Good thing his neighbor Allie turns out to be the perfect girl for him. Peppered with a large cast of fun supporting characters, this novel is well-worth the read. Though Allie and Blake’s story is somewhat easily resolved, the overarching story does not disappoint. On a serious note, Brown tackles the touchy topic of Alzheimer’s with Allie’s grandmother Irene. The characters reactions to Irene’s confusion reveals large parts of their character. Brown handles the subject with welcome sensitivity and brings many of the ongoing issues related to the disease to light. If you are a long-time fan of Brown’s work you will love this new series. If you haven’t met one of her cowboys before this is a great place to start.

Wild Cowboy Ways by Carolyn Brown My rating: 5 of 5 stars Carolyn Brown is a new discovery for me. I received an ARC of Wild Cowboy Ways from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. What stood out for me about this author is that she writes romance fiction that is entertaining but also tackles issues that are prevalent in the world. For instance, dementia is hard to witness as an outsider looking in. Just think about watching the heartbreaking changes happen to someone that you love. I know this first hand because both of my grandmothers struggled with this disease and it is painful to experience. So that aspect of the story line trigger a great deal of emotion within me. This story is about more than just a heated romance. It is about people adjusting to change and helping each other along the way. Everyone needs encouraging voice and a shoulder to lean on sometimes.
