This eclectic series of short stories revolving around Deadwood, SD alternates between contemporary and historical. These 17 stories cover many styles and includes some quality authors. Remember that these are short stories, so things happen fast and often leave you feeling like things are unfinished. However, it is worth the money and the cause it supports is very worthy.

You can't read just one. I loved that this anthology is a mixture of genres since I enjoy reading both historical and contemporary stories. This set gave me the chance to read some new authors. I especially loved Once Upon A Deadwood Dream by Amanda McIntyre. I liked the way the paranormal elements and the murder of Wild Bill Hickok lead to a modern day romance. I liked the chemistry between Crystal and Hunter. Their connection was immediate and powerful. It was easy to care for these characters. Crystal was special. I always enjoy a character who is gifted with sight. The shooting during the confrontation was exciting and was a perfect way for Crystal to go back in time and meet Wild Bill and Great Grandma Agnes Lake. Once Upon a Deadwood Dream was a romantic tale. I can't wait see how it connects with her The End Of The Line series. I enjoyed E.E. Burke's Unexpected Calamity. It painted an interesting picture of Calamity Jane. I enjoyed this picture of this interesting woman and her unexpected connection with a ghost. I enjoyed all the stories that made up Wild Deadwood Tales and the fact that the proceeds benefit the Western Sports Foundation is an added bonus.
