This is my first Danelle Harmon book and THIS is why I keep reading free books. It's not because I'm cheap, it's because I read A LOT! Nothing frustrated me more than buying a new book from an author that I haven't read only to find that I have a poorly edited hastily written novella that I should have been paid to read. This Georgian era novel was well written and fun to read. It also had a freshness to the story and style that made this book hard to put down. Loved it and bought the next one before I even wrote this review.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Wild One. The plot kept me interested as there was just the right amount of romance and just the right amount of excitement. I will be reading the next installment, The Beloved One, soon.

As the first in the series, your not sure how to take The Duke. But by the middle of the book I wanted to reach in and slap him :) that's how well written these characters are. You fall in love w/Garath pretty much from page three. This is a man coming of age story and it's brilliant!

I hate cliffhangers... period! I enjoyed the romance of Juliet and Gareth. But that was a rough row to hoe because she loved before. She was engaged to Charles because she fell in love. He was a British officer. She was a Colonial with no social standing. When she told Charles she was pregnant, he was so overjoyed that he immediately proposed. She wore his signet ring to display their promise... then Charles was killed and when the people realized that she had fratenized with a Brit, she had to escape. Charles made her promise to go to to his home and so she came to find a home for her daughter, Charlotte. Juliet met Gareth, Charles' brother. Circumstances threw them together until necessity required them to marry. Juliette did not love Gareth but he made her laugh and, more importantly, he made her daughter laugh! Although Juliette had married Gareth to protect her daughter, she continued to treasure Charles. She compared her beloved Charles to Gareth and her husband made a poor showing. He never planned anything, which resulted in chaos. I enjoyed their story. Gareth finally grows up. Juliette found him to be a good husband. Lucien, the oldest brother, the manipulator finds out that not everything can be controlled. Life is alwats stepping in. I do hate cliffhangers but this one is justified. I would recommend the book to all.

This is my 2nd Danelle Harmon book & I am most definitely a big fan! Such intrigue & emotional upheaval makes for a realistic & breathtaking story. It will be interesting to see how the rest of this series unfolds.

A fun read, with an epilogue leading both back to the beginning of this one, and onto the next novel. Don't skip to the end to find out! Leaps of faith by both protagonists, but a willingness to forge ahead and see where they go with their hard work and determination.

I scarfed these down like candy. Harmon's de Montforte brothers are each delicious, and every book is better than the last. Unfortunately, most are out of print, but if you see them in the used bookstore, definitely grab a copy.

I normally do not like period books but accidentally downloaded this one. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was not your typical love story and I liked that. This was my first time reading Ms. Harmon's books. I am going to purchase the next book in this series and hope that it as good as the first.

I enjoyed the writing to the point where I could see my self living at the moments of time in this book. The ability of this writer to describe the characters and the scenes does put you there loving, struggling, striving right along side the people brought to life.

The Wild One by Danelle Harmon is an amazing historical romance. Ms Harmon has given us a well-written book loaded with fantastic characters. Juliet and Gareth's story is loaded with drama, action, suspense and sizzle. This book hooked me on the first page and held me hostage till the end. I totally enjoyed reading The Wild One and look forward to reading more from Danelle Harmon in the future. The Wild One is book 1 of The De Montforte Brothers Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
