Overview

Wild Things (Shifters Unbound Series #7.75) by Jennifer Ashley

Wolf Shifter Mason McNaughton is tired of the crazy feral living in his house, endangering him, his brothers, and his sweet auntie Cora. Ferals are Shifters who've reverted to the wild stage, forgetting all about the joys of pizza and satellite TV. Not to mention, Mason is sick of waking up to the feral's rampages, one of which nearly killed him. The feral has been given sanctuary, so Mason can't throw him out-the only thing to do is to find a way to cure him.

The problem is, Shifter healers-elusive, Goddess-touched Shifters who have the healing gift-are few and far between. Mason volunteers to go in search of one, and is sent to a psychic in New Orleans who might have an idea of where to start looking.

Mason doesn't believe in psychics, but Jasmine, the psychic in question, seems to at least put on a good show. Jasmine believes in Shifters all right, but she vowed to never have anything to do with them again.

The easiest way to get rid of the growly Lupine, Mason, is to help him, but Jasmine never dreams what that help will drag her into.

Ok so the last couple of books in this series while good wern't great. This one is. Mason, Brodricks youngest brother if you follow the series needs to find a shifter healer. During his search he meets Jasmine. A unparraled adventure ensues with a wild house, a jerk ex and lots more. This one is easy on the mystism and dosen't retread the same plot devices and emtional issues that have become a bit well worn. Well worth the read and despite it being a novella it isn't rushed or incomplete ( over 130 pages).

Short story, about 150 pages. If you have read the series, you will enjoy the story. A complete story but you need to know the Shiftertown, guardians and collars to enjoy the book. Most of the story is how the psychic divines where the healer is--not the romance. I wanted more interaction between the hero and heroine.

A break from what has become the norm. I enjoyed the energy and flow of the novella. The house as a character is fresh and unexpected

Familiar characters, a little extra super natural and a steamy romance. Short and sweet.

I absolutely love it. It is a little different than previous books because you can tell that Mason is younger than the rest of the shifters in the series. But I absolutely loved it. It kept my attention throughout and I didn't put it down until I was done reading.

Mason has got to get out of his house before the feral shifter Alek kills him, so he volunteers to go hunt down a shifter healer. To do that he has to go to New Orleans and consult a human psychic to figure out where to start and he doesn't believe in any of that. He goes and meets Jasmine, who is a friend of Bree's from Lion Eyes. He doesn't hide his skepticism or that he thinks it is BS. When her nasty and aggressive boyfriend shows up and threatens her, his shifter protectiveness takes over. He gets him to leave with the help of Jazz's very haunted house (it is actually quite funny the role the house plays in protecting Jazz). One thing leads to another and she ends up going back to Austin with Mason. From there Mason becomes a true believer, the course is set for them to go to Alaska to find the healer, and a lot of sparks fly between the two. Jazz cares for him but ever since a shifter broke her heart when he found his true mate she isn't willing to think long term with Mason. In the end, Mason proves to her that what they have isn't temporary but permanent. It doesn't hurt that the house in New Orleans totally approves of him. It was a very cute story with an entertaining plot and conflict. Their road trips take them out of Austin which is refreshing. It is less than 200 pages but it really doesn't feel like a novella. The curse of the novella is nowhere near this story. It was very enjoyable and entertaining.

~ 3.5 Wild Stars ~  Wild Things is a novella in the Shifters Unbound series by Jennifer Ashley. I do enjoy the novellas in this series. They are fun, cute, sweet, quick and enjoyable. The author does a great job outlining the world and how things work, that you don't feel like you are missing much. I also like the glimpses of previous couples and the hints of who could be next to get a romance in the series. As for Mason and Jasmine, they where ok. Their romance in and of itself is quick. These two must work together to find a rare shifter healer. Even if you skip this novella you will still get to meet the shifter healer in White Tiger and the shifter healer will also have his own story in book #9 Guardian's Mate. I do have to say I loved Jasmine's haunted house. The house rocked. Kinda wish we had more of this house. This series has good world building, the mythology of shifters is unique, and the characters are adorable. If you have not tried this series yet, you should. It's got a verity of shifters for everyone to fall in love with plus each book brings something new to the table. I can't wait for more. Reviewed by Angela @ Angel's Guilty Pleasures
