When Sydney’s father died, she is sent to live with her Aunt Blanche and Uncle Dean in Sedona. Even though she loves living there, she is targeted by the school bully, and also her uncle is an abusive alcoholic. She then meets Lexy, billionaire Max Heller’s daughter, and they become best friends. When Sydney’s aunt accidentally meets Lexy’s dad, they totally hit it off. As Sydney and Lexy match wits with the school bully, Blanche and Max come to terms with their forbidden relationship. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It made me feel like Sydney and Blanche were part of my own family. Even under their circumstances, they still thrived. I caught myself pulling for the forbidden relationship. Even though it was wrong, it was so right. I didn’t understand the ending though. It was like everything was left up in the air. I hope that it means another book is coming, because that’s the only answer for it to end that way.

Sydney, 15, is sent to live with her aunt after her father is killed.  Her mother died when she was young.   Her aunt, Blanche, welcomes her with open arms but her uncle, Dean, is another story.  He is an abusive  alcoholic who makes life miserable for everyone. Sydney eventually makes a new friend, Lexy, who just happens to be the only daughter of a widowed millionaire, Max Heller. The girls are constantly pulling stunts to get rid of Max's bimbos and anything else they can think of for fun. They try setting Max up with someone older but it backfires when Max falls for Aunt Blanche.   The story was very good but the dialogue was stilted.  Definitely not how teenagers would talk! I enjoyed the characters and would definitely give this author another chance.

Wild Flowers by Alexandra Forry was a great read. I liked the basic plot of the story. It is easy to judge someone for staying in an abusive relationship. This is the case for Sydney. She cannot understand why her aunt stays with a man that makes them both miserable. She is new to this town so she has no friends in the beginning. Sydney soon makes a friend and they couldn’t be more different, but the one thing they have in common is loneliness. Sydney is poor where Lexy’s father is a billionaire. They forge a bond (and pull some pranks) that cannot be broken.  There are some surprised, but they are mild. While I enjoyed the plotline, parts of the dialogue seemed really stilted. I give this book 4 **** because it was a fun read and I do enjoy an HEA.
