About the Author

Barbara Demers works as a literary and scholarly editor in Edmonton. She has also been a developer of distance-education materials for the past 14 years. Willa's New World is her first book. Barbara has a BA from the University of Saskatchewan, and currently works for Athabasca University as well as pursuing a Masters of Education degree. Born in Edmonton, she lived in Australia and New Zealand for a time before returning to Edmonton to work.

this novel took place in the york factory and the canadien wilderness. the story is of A girl who is sent from england to stay in the york factory and find work. she meets many a people and makes many friends but finds herself in a difficult situation with the trades master. this novel was definatly worth reading and if you choose it, you will find that you will not be dissapointed. willa's new world is definately a good choice
