About the Author

Zoe York lives in London, Ontario with her young family. She has an English degree and works at a university, so it was probably a foregone conclusion that she’d write a romance novel one day. What Once Was Perfect is her debut novel.

This is a cute, fun story and a quick read. I also appreciate the deeper message not to let go of someone you love without fighting for the relationship. I think too often couples think divorce is the solution and, as a result, they lose the person they used to love most in the world. This story will make you think a about how much effort you are putting into your own relationship,

I am a huge Zoe York fan, in addition to being a great writer, she is generous with other writers and speaks her mind (even in her books!). Gwen I am starting to know from this book and from what I just read I am quickly becoming a fan. This book is great! Michael and Heather begin their story as a couple in the summer Camp and after many years together and oddly drifting apart start to reconnect at the camp again. I love story of reconnections, this couple is so lovely and they realize almost too late the mistakes that they both have made and finally get their HEA. This book is so beautiful written and I recommend!

I loved this story and I'm most definitely looking forward to reading more in the series! Michael and Heather Tully met and fell in love with each other twenty years ago at summer camp, but they lost touch with each other until they were in college. In spite of their many differences they couldn't deny their attraction and love for one another, but now those differences and everyday life is making their relationship challenging. Their marriage is in trouble and Heather has already filed for divorce, quit her job and bought and moved to the camp where she and Michael first met hoping to start a grownup camp where escaping everyday real life is the plan. I was given an ARC for an honest review. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

Quick, fun, fast read. I believe that this book is a kickoff to a new series based around Firefly Falls Camp, which used to be a children's overnight camp. Our main characters met at camp and fell in love, many years later ended up married and now are on the verge of divorce. She cashed out all of her accounts and bought the camp to make it a retreat for adults, he wasn't too happy about that, he felt it irresponsible. Now he's been served with divorce papers, in reality, it's a wake-up call, which he answers. I enjoyed the wake-up of both characters, and look forward to future editions in this series. Good history building of how the camp comes back to life.

what a wonderful story about second chances. Two people meet as young teens in camp. They meet up in college and are married. But as life would have it one is lost in his work while his wife feels left behind and alone. I wont explain what happens, but the wife moves out and serves her husband divorce papers. This is the wake up call he needed! It was great to see how open he was to listen to her and really work for their marriage. It was so refreshing to have two grownups act like that's what they were and take responsibility for their part in the crumbling of their marriage. They commit to each other and getting their marriage back. But will a family crisis ruin all their hard work? Get this book to find out, you wont regret it!
