Overview

In bestseller Elin Hilderbrand's first Christmas novel, a family gathers on Nantucket for a holiday filled with surprises.

Kelley Quinn is the owner of Nantucket's Winter Street Inn and the proud father of four, all of them grown and living in varying states of disarray. Patrick, the eldest, is a hedge fund manager with a guilty conscience. Kevin, a bartender, is secretly sleeping with a French housekeeper named Isabelle. Ava, a school teacher, is finally dating the perfect guy but can't get him to commit. And Bart, the youngest and only child of Kelley's second marriage to Mitzi, has recently shocked everyone by joining the Marines.

As Christmas approaches, Kelley is looking forward to getting the family together for some quality time at the inn. But when he walks in on Mitzi kissing Santa Claus (or the guy who's playing Santa at the inn's annual party), utter chaos descends. With the three older children each reeling in their own dramas and Bart unreachable in Afghanistan, it might be up to Kelley's ex-wife, nightly news anchor Margaret Quinn, to save Christmas at the Winter Street Inn.

Before the mulled cider is gone, the delightfully dysfunctional Quinn family will survive a love triangle, an unplanned pregnancy, a federal crime, a small house fire, many shots of whiskey, and endless rounds of Christmas caroling, in this heart-warming novel about coming home for the holidays.

Follow the Quinn family through the entire Winter Street Series:

I LOVED this book! I am a Elin Hildebrand fan and this novel is now one of my favorites. The Winter Street Inn comes filled with lovable characters who had me laughing, cheering, and grinning from ear to ear. Everyone brings their own set of issues and opinions home for Christmas and we are lucky to see how they all play out. I was surprised again and again by the interactions and jovial attitude of Kelley, the owner of the Inn. I want a sequil and hope that we will be blessed by one. I won an advanced reader's copy of this book and I felt like I had won the lottery! A must buy!

I was terribly disappointed.  I knew what was going to happen within the first 12 pages.  Only 200 pages and weak story.

It makes me sad to say this but if I could give this book zero stars I would. I found Elin Hilderbrand earlier this year and fell in love with her books... I devoured all I could my hands on. And when I found out she had a new Christmas one coming out I was thrilled... So to say this book was disappointing is an understatement. The plot is cliched and boring, the characters don't grab you at all like ones in her previous novels and the ending somehow managed to be completely predictable while not even being an ending at all. I don't know what has happened to this awesome author but she definitely fell short on this book.

I truly enjoyed this short, quick read from Page 1. I always buy Elin Hilderbrand's annual summer beach read, and her first Christmas read did not disappoint me. It's light, fluffy, and enjoyable! Curl up by the fire and check it out.

Love Elin Hilderbrand's books. This one and Matchmaker are two of the best. You won't be disappointed.

The Quinn Family is wonderful... A great book to read again and again... especially at Christmas time! This is the fourth Elin Hildebrand book I've read, and definitely my favorite! I started with Summer of '69 and then The Perfect Couple, which I enjoyed. Then I read The Island, which I basically had to talk myself into finishing after skipping parts of the book. Reader's reviews convinced me to give the Quinn series a try. I'm so glad I did. The characters are absolutely wonderful ... once I started reading this book, it was hard to put it down.
