Proves bad language and sex is not necessary for exciting, compelling read.

Enjoyed this...a little slow in some spots, and some of the characters you would have thought would be important didn't really develop, but otherwise a good story. Liked the suspense, the clean romance, and the faith factor. Would recommend. Review by CherishD

This novel is wonderfully written and completely engaging with one exception. God. I am a once catholic but currently leaning toward athiest. It was hard not to skip passages but i always try to finish whatever book I start. The characters are relatable and the police procedure is pretty spot on.

The story line kept repeating the same thing in every chapter. Boy likes girl, no clues to catch the thief, trust in God. I almost quit reading each page to just go to last chapter to finish the book.

Winter’s Secret #1 Northern Intrigue by Lyn Cote Nurse Wendy Carey and Sheriff Rod Durand have their hands full as they try to figure out who is responsible for the strange, mysterious and increasingly dangerous happenings going on in their little community. Coupled with action, intrigue, romance and faith...learning to turn to God in all things and accepting His forgiveness, and interesting secondary characters; the harsh winter of Wisconsin is the perfect setting for this heartwarming story.

Was hooked from very beginning.. it was hard to put down. It is very thought provoking as to your own walk with the Lord. It has smalltown drama, old grudges, new loves. With a twist of suspense who would be breaking into the elderlys homes? How did the thief always know when they were away? That is the challenge the new sheriff faces. Not only with his job but with a pretty little nurse. I highly recommend this book. It was a joy to read. AKS

Very long and drawn out book filled with bible quotes and religious overtones...made it half way through and gave up...not so much because of religion stuff but because of the Kind of hokey characters and not much substance to story line. Upside was no cussing or explicit sex scenes

What a great romantic Christian mystery. The author writes an excellent storyline that made it so hard for me to stop reading until the end. I enjoyed the mystery, but even more delightful adding the romance. Author Lyn Cote wrote a fabulous book in "Winter's Secret". Looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend to read this wholesome Christian book. I received a complimentary copy from the author. This review is one hundred percent my opinion.

Winter's Secret by Lyn Cote Northern Intrigue Series Book One Sheriff Rodd Durand is a loner and not well-worded with women. As the new sheriff in the town of Steadfast, he finds that he needs to prove himself in a big way. They have a thief breaking into homes of the elderly while they are in the hospital. And he sees that the pretty nurse seems to be the line connecting the dots. Wendy Carey has decided to stay single and work at the job she loves so much. The new sheriff is handsome enough but his words set her off. She has had to prove herself continually to this town. Between her mom's poor choices after the death of Wendy's dad and her uncle Dutch's activities—the past rises up and chokes her. Welcome to the town of Steadfast, Wisconsin where you never know who is watching you so they can gossip. And gossip travels fast. There are quite a few interesting characters in town and now one of them is a thief. Great mystery and romance story. There are two more books after this one; Autumn's Shadow and Summer's End.

Winter's Secret is an exciting story of intrigue and romance! I enjoyed the setting, a small Wisconsin town, and shivered at the descriptions of its cold, wintry climate. I also enjoyed the ongoing mystery that Sheriff Rodd Durand struggles to solve, as well the romance that develops between he and Wendy Carey. The conclusion surprised me and left me eager to read the next book in the series. I thoroughly enjoyed Winter’s Secret! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All thoughts expressed in this review are my own.
