Winter's Wolf by Tara Lain

Tales of the Harker Pack: Book Three

Winter Thane was raised on the two cardinal rules of werewolf existence: don’t reveal yourself to humans under penalty of death, and there’s no such thing as a gay werewolf. It’s no surprise when his father drags him from his wild life in remote Canada back to Connecticut to meet his old pack in hopes it will persuade Winter to abandon his love of sex with human males. Of course Dad’s hopes are dashed when they come face-to-face with the gay werewolves in the Harker pack.

Winter takes one look at FBI agent Matt Partridge and decides bird is his favorite food. Partridge is embroiled in an investigation into drug dealing and the death of a fellow agent. He can’t let himself get distracted by the young, platinum-haired beast, but then Winter proves invaluable in the search for clues, a move that winds them both up in chains and facing imminent death. Winter quickly learns his father’s motives are questionable, the pack alphas are a bunch of pussies, humans aren’t quite what they seem, and nothing in the forests of Connecticut is pure except love.

Another great sequel from the awesome Tara Lain!  Both men were smart, loyal, and just good people all around.  They were adorable together with some very hot love scenes.  The supporting characters were all kinds of great.  The story was exciting, well-paced, and included both couples from the previous books.  As with the last one, this book could stand alone, but it’s much better if you’ve read the first two.  Overall just a fantastic read! Winter’s Wolf is a sweet, sexy story with a phenomenal cast of characters.  Pick up this awesome read for a romantic, high stakes, edge of your seat ride!

m/m Winter Thane is young, intelligent, beautiful and has been brought up off the grid.  I bring this up because it affects how he reacts to pack life and laws.  FBI agent Matt Partridge has issues of his own.  He thinks his father is going insane and he may not be far behind.  That doesn’t stop the instant attraction between Matt & Winter but it does contribute to how they treat each other.   I really enjoyed this book.  Winter’s take on the world was truly interesting and Matt’s situation had me in tears.  This may be my favorite addition to this series.  This book can be read standalone but you will definitely get more out of it if you have read the previous two books.

This is the third in the Tales of the Harker Pack. The long-lost member of the Marketo pack returns with a son of his own. Winter Thane was brought back to the area of his father’s, Damon, birth on the pretense of Damon wanting him to know pack life after being lone wolves for almost twenty-one years. Damon also had another reason for coming back–he hoped Winter would let go of the idea of being gay, since there were no gay werewolves, and find a suitable female to settle down with. Damon also has an agenda of his own. The first night in town, Winter meets the man who draws him in with just a look. Not knowing whether Matt is gay or not, Winter decides to pursue him. Matt Partridge is an FBI agent working a case of illegal drugs being distributed in the area causing several deaths, and the death of an FBI agent. He is suspicious of everyone, including the new men in town, which he sees as a coincidence. But, he can not hide his attraction to Winter. There are many revelations for both Damon and Winter the night of their introduction to the packs, both their own and the Harker Pack, an alliance of the two by marriage. Winter finds employment with the local law enforcement, thereby working with Matt as well. Unable to hold back their immense attraction for each other, Matt and Winter spend a few hours together on a special night. Once it was over, Matt retreated back to his aloof self and left Winter wondering what happened, and if they will be together.  Winter is pulled into another situation involving dissension in the packs. Seems there are many not happy with the alliance between the two packs, nor the alphantas of each pack being men and married to each other. Will Winter join the group, or somehow try to diffuse the situation. Just as the dissenters gather to execute their plan, the drug case begins to tie in. Both Winter and Matt are taken hostage. I don’t want to give it away, but the ending will surprise readers. I look forward to many more in the series, and from author Tara Lain. This ARC was given in exchange for an honest review.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. 5 Stars  I love the fact that Cole stood up with Lindsey and that they were able to reconcile with their packs after the fact. I love that Lindsey has his own pack/safe haven and we discover his family on his father's side. I am happy that both couples got their HEA.  Recommendation: I'm hoping for at least one more (if not more) stories in this series.
