Regina Hart adds another emotional story in Wishing Lake. A Finding Home Novel. University Professor Peyton Harris came to Trinity Falls, Ohio to forget about her past and start a new life. Her parents try to run her life and the fiancé that won’t except its over have made the decision to start over an easy one to make. Darius Knight is a reporter for the local paper. He enjoys his job but he also has parents that drive him up the wall. Seems all his single friends are falling in love and the matchmakers in town have set their sites on Darius and Peyton. Peyton and Darius get hooked into working on a fundraiser together. Soon spending all this time together has them looking at each other in a whole new light. But when Peyton’s ex comes to town with his own agenda will this new found romance survive? Wishing Lake is a multi layered book. The issue with parents, friends and the past all add to the overall enjoyment of the book. Peyton and Darius really have a explosive chemistry as well as witty conversations. I enjoyed revisiting with characters that still have a place in my heart.
I liked this book. It took me a bit to get into the story. There was a bombardment of the people in this book. Once I got the characters sorted out I really enjoyed this story. It was kind of fun to follow everybody's story line. Darius wants to be alone and just do his reporting. His parents have a love/hate relationship that kills Darius. Peyton transferred to Trinity Falls from NYC. That devastated her parents. She has finally cut the ties to her parents. S has a big spoiler that follows her for most of the book. It seems like everyone has a spoiler. This was a cute read and happy for most of the it. I hope you try this one. Enjoy the reading! I have this book for an honest review for NetGalley.
