Which Way to Turn starts out slow, but very quickly gains momentum until you're swept up in a flurry of events. Breena Cross lived in foster care for years and cared for her little sister Jenny despite an abusive foster parent. By trying to save her sister from one of her foster mother's abusive boyfriends, Breena awakens powers she didn't know she had. Because of this awakening, Breena becomes hunted by every manner of supernatural creature. Through the aide of her coworker who turns out to be much more, Breena manages to bull her way through every challenge thrown at her.   Although she doesn't know it, Breena is part preternatural, part witch and has a special ability to draw other supernatural creatures to her. Her little sister Jenny is part witch, part werewolf with the ability to see the auras of other creatures. The assassin sent to kill Breena ends up falling in love with her, calling himself her soulmate. Her coworker, who is serving a sentence as her protector, has been in love with her for years. Through a series of twists and turns, Breena finds out everyone and their brother is trying to kill her or turn her to their kind. Breena can't choose between Orin, the assassin who calls her his soulmate, and Myles, her vampire protector. Despite a few small circumstances that pulled me out of the story and go "Is that even possible? Wouldn't someone raise questions? How does that work exactly?" or feeling like the story had too much action, I really enjoyed the story. I never know rather to pull for Orin or Myles in the whole love triangle and find myself hoping she ends up with them both in some kind of polyamorous relationship. There is a lot more in store for both Breena and Jenny in the future and I'm looking forward to the next book. I'm not seeing her happiness lasting forever. Suffering seems to be in her character.

This book surprised me. I wasn't sure what to expect... but it was GREAT! It grabbed my attention from the start. I couldn't quite figure out where it was going. I wasn't sure WHO she was going to choose. :) I enjoyed how the storyline came together. I'm really looking forward to the next book!

So I wasn’t sure what to expect from this, but boy I sure enjoyed it. It started off so sad, as Breena is an orphaned girl, who has had a pretty rough life, in a really crappy foster home. She’s been through some bad times. But her whole world is her little sister, which is actually her foster sister, but she is willing to do ANYTHING to get custody of her and get her out of that terrible life. She’s pretty much in love with Myles, who is the new guy who works with her at a drug store. And then all of a sudden, hell has broken loose! Things get moving quite quickly, and in the beginning, you are never sure who is what, and on which side, and who wants to kill her, or eat her, or love her, or multiple choices of those, lol. She’s frustrated with Myles, as he’s so caring to her and her sister, but won’t reciprocate her feeling back, so she upon meeting Orin chooses him as the boyfriend. But boy, with all the crazy things going on, she doesn’t know which is worse, having a soul mate, or loving your best friend and not having him… Ah, love… I am so surprised with this book, I flew while reading, got all excited, then nervous, then furious, and happy, and sad, and then completely uprooted. Lord, that ending is all kinda crazy and sets up perfectly for the next book! I really look forward to how it will continue and the writing is pretty flawless. If there were any mistakes, I didn’t catch them as I was way too involved in the story. In the matter of team Orin vs team Myles… I’m not sure who I would pick, nor am I sure what’s going to happen in the future, so she may change her mind as to who she has picked now, to who she may pick later if she changes her mind. It’s all up in the air LOL but she does pick. I will say I am happy about her pick for the fact that I think at this moment in time, it is perfect for what we have now. It’s kinda hard to explain without spoilers LOL, anyways I give a 5 PAWS and say-hurry and gimme book 2!!

Ever read a book and feel like you need to come down from a high? lol That's how I felt reading Witch Way to Turn, this book was off the charts awesome. I mean come on, how can it not with two really hot sexy guys fighting for the attention of one girl. The heat and fire between Breena and each of her sexy guys is fascinating. I can't wait to see what Karen Bynum has in store with the sequel. Breena grew up in an abusive foster home with her foster sister, Jennifer. Now Breena is out on her own and trying to make a life for herself so that she can one day get custody of Jenny, and make a better life for the both of them. Breena knew nothing of the Preternatural World that exited right under her nose, nor did she know that she was part of it, that was until one night when she was attacked and then saved by Orin. But of course Orin is no hero, in fact he's the Queen's assassin and he never fails to complete an assignment, that is until he meets Breena and falls for her immediately. Then we have Myles who works with Breena, but then again he's not just her best friend he is the prisoner of the Witches Council and must do their bidding at will. However, Breena knows nothing of this until she's had a horrible accident and Myles is there to protect and heal her. Oh and we can't forget how everybody and their grandmother is after her and yes I mean grandmother. Breena has werewolves, Vampires, and other preternaturals including witches after, all wanting to kill her or use her, because they all know what she doesn't. However, the only thing Breena wants is to live a normal life with Jenny. Will she be able to save herself and Jenny? You must read the book to find out, I highly recommend this book for those who love paranormal romance.

[This review also appears on Andi's Young Adult Books.] Breena is a tough character. She has a hard edge to her, which is no surprise after being in foster care for her first 18 years. She was abused for a lot of it, yet managed to come out with a big heart. Her foster sister, Jenny, means the world to her. She will do whatever it takes to protect her. Her swinging devotion between the two men in her life almost makes you seasick. Whenever she is with one, she wants the other. In the heat of the moment, she can quickly change her mind, adding to the frustration she already has about her true situation. You personally feel the frustration. You want her to make up her mind, already! Ah, to be so lucky as to have two alluring men after you at the same time! You can forgive her, though, because you are just as confused as she is. You also have to wait a frustratingly long time to get any of the truth out of anyone. Situations keep popping up that make no sense. Tidbits of information are revealed after each one. Granted, your head (and hers) is already swimming, trying to process the current knowledge, let alone adding any more. Again, this allows you to really feel what Breena is feeling at that point in the story. It's hard to know which way to turn and whom to trust. Even at the end, she still isn't sure. Her story is just beginning... I received a complimentary ebook in exchange for my honest review.
