Angie Prescotte is the only race car driver to ever win every single race in the SRVSCRA season, but in spite of her success and fame, her life is far from happy and complete. She hasn’t yet gotten over her boyfriend, tragically killed in a car accident, and there is Auronia, her daughter that she worries about. To find answers, she asks Lucky O’Rourke for help in studying the Bible. Angie discovers Jesus in the course of her studies with Lucky, but something else is happening; she is learning to love Lucky. But things are going to change when the killer of a girl Lucky found under the trailer comes into their lives. Can anything ever be the same again? And can Angie and Lucky keep the love they just discovered for each other with a dangerous killer posing a powerful threat ... or is he, really? Jim Overturf’s novel is well written and very inspirational, a story that explores themes of faith, love, murder, suicide and family. The characters are strong and complex and it is interesting to follow them as the story develops. Lucky is an enigmatic character with a strange concept of love. I found it intriguing that he doesn’t talk about exclusive love and states that love has no boundaries. Angie is genuinely vulnerable, a professional racer who is still grieving the loss of her boyfriend. With All My Heart and Soul: A Swift River Valley Inspirational Romance is well paced, intriguing, and cunningly plotted. The writing is atmospheric and filled with natural and engaging dialogues. The author allows a strong emotional connection to happen between the reader and the characters, thanks to the ingenious storytelling craft.
