With Visions of Red by Trisha Wolfe

Passion and danger ignite. Dark and light battle. This explosive first installment of the Broken Bonds series sets the exhilarating pace for a cat and mouse game where no one knows who's really pulling the strings.

Criminal profiler Sadie Bonds knows blood. Her affair with the gruesome, dark world of killers began long before she started applying her analytical skills to investigate gory crime scenes. She gets inside the killers' heads, breaks them down, relates to them on an arcane level. She prefers it this way--because it's safer to ally herself with the villain than the victim. At least, that's how she's coped ever since she was abducted and tortured as a teen.

She will never be a victim again.

Now, she's honed her skills in order to bring justice to these ritualistic offenders. Working alongside her colleagues, armed with sharp wit and a SIG, Sadie always catches her sadist. Until one ruthless serial killer gets inside Sadie's head, turning the tables. He knows her secrets. Her obsessions. The darkest, most deviant part of her soul.

When she meets Colton Reed, dangerous stakes are raised as he threatens to unravel her control and reveal her darkest fantasies. The sexy-as-sin rigger at an exclusive club pushes her boundaries, forcing her to acknowledge that side of herself she fears. Plunged into a realm of torture and suffering, pain and pleasure, Sadie balances on the razor-sharp edge of two intersecting worlds threatening to swallow her.

Heart-pounding. Breathtaking. Edge-of-your-seat suspense. Trisha Wolfe has taken her dark and twisty writing to a whole new level. And I don't know how long I can wait for the next one! WITH VISIONS OF RED had me turning pages as fast as I could, sitting on the edge of my seat the entire time! I read it in one sitting, because how can you not? The characters are very three dimensional, and their stories are filled with unexpected twists and turns. Trisha Wolfe did a phenomenal job of getting inside all three of the main characters' heads. And an amazing job of revealing just the right amount of information at exactly the right time.

***Arc received in exchange for an honest review*** This was an amazing book! Wow, I wasn't sure what to expect when I started it, but I loved it! It's dark, and heavy. Twisted, and sexy. Colton is sexy, alpha, and hot as hell. Sadie having gone through what she goes through and trying to find her place in life, is such a powerful character. I really can not wait to see what happens in book two! I hope we don't have to wait to long. If you love dark books, this is a must read. I highly recommend it!

I've never read anything like this book. I usually stay away from thrillers. But this has a serial killer, it's erotic, there's chemistry between the characters and Shibari is working with ropes and Colton makes it look like a work of art.  Trisha Wolfe is so descriptive it's like you're in the room with Colton when he's working with his ropes. Colton is mysterious and has secrets. Sadie looks like she's broken beyond repair. There are many layers to peel away before she is truly free. These two together are very hot and erotic. I know it'll get even hotter between them in the next book.  I have a little list of who the serial killer might be. What Sadie went through and survived has made her who she is. But it also took a part of her that she needs to get back.  This is a must read for anyone over 18. This is amazing work. I can't wait for the next book. I highly recommend this book.

Her writing captures you, asking you to dig deeper and be compelled to know her characters. Only author lately I've purchased the sequels. The only other author that has had this power has been K. Bromberg.

This is the first book of three and ends on a cliff hanger. Sadie is a criminal profiler, getting into the heads of killers. She was a victim as a teen, kidnapped and tortured and never wants to face that again. When she meets Colton Reed he is able to get into her head. Looking forward to learning more about him. This is a fast paced dark read. Held my interest throughout.

Spellbinding if you are into CSI type shows / serial murder stories that throw in some hinky/kinky sex. Moving on to part two w some thoughts on who "done it" have some fav characters and some l don't like at all.

While the author is an excellent writer, and the story line of hunted turned hunter is captivating, she falls into the category of a tease. 130 pages could be a whole book, but it's not even 1/4 of the story. Just another way for the publisher and author to make money. Yes, I want to know how the story develops and ends, but I'm not going to pay more for it so I guess I'll just have to wonder.

Police profiler Sadie always distances herself from the victims she's working with. She has to in order to do her job. But this latest case hits a little too close to home for her. She can't shake the feeling that something about this killer and crime scenes is somewhat familiar. That this is somehow personal. As more bodies are added to the killer's list, the darkness inside her seems to be growing. She's been repressing it for so long that when she meets Colton, she has little choice but to give in to him and finally let her dark side free. Erotic thrillers aren't something I read a lot of and I am just now realizing what a shame that is because this one was fantastic. The author drew me in from the beginning and I was almost hypnotized by the story. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the next victim while searching for clues. And while all that nerve wracking crazy is going on, I'm also dying with anticipation to see where Colton can take her. When the two get near each other, I can practically feel the sparks. Where will they go from here? We know about Sadie's past and how it's made her into a damn fine profiler but Colton is a bit more of a mystery. Is there more to him than we realize? I'm really curious as to what his full story is. Then of course there is the serial killer on the loose. I have my hunches on who it might be, but honestly it could be anyone and I'm not all that confident in my guess. Which is a testament to how well the author is keeping you on your toes. I thoroughly enjoyed the start to the series and I can't wait to continue want I need to know all the truths that are hiding in the dark.

*4.5 Stars* I was kinda stunned. In a good way! ;) I knew Trisha Wolfe could do dark and gritty - but she took it to a whole new level in With Visions of Red. I think I'd compare With Visions of Red to Silence of the Lambs - if Hannibal Lector had been into medieval torture and killing rather than cannibalism and Agent Starling had spent time in captivity and subjected to kink. Sadie Bonds is a criminal profiler, a profession she has a personal connection with. Her latest case - that of a possible serial killer - is pushing her buttons. And that's how she find herself face-to-face with Colton Reed. Colton is rather enigmatic. He works in a BDSM club as shibari expert. He has set his sights on Sadie. As he gets her to open up, they forge a tenuous bond. A bond that is tested by Sadie's latest case. Wolfe deftly set the stage with vivid and graphic descriptions of crime scenes and details of a police procedural. Then she weaves in these compelling characters with dark pasts. The profiler element fascinated me. Getting into a killer's head, having the scenes tied to medieval history...well, it was quite a combination. The personal ties between Sadie and the crimes as well as the mysterious nature of Colton had me gripping my kindle and flipping through the pages. To say I'm eager for the next installment would be an understatement. I'm almost quivering in excitement, and maybe a little apprehension, over what comes next for Sadie, the UNSUB, and Colton.

I wanted to read Visions of Red because I have adored everything Trisha has written even things from when I beta read some of her stuff not published. She writes characters that are easy to love and sizzling romances that make me want to swoon. I will admit that the whole mystery and murder part of it is not something that I would have chosen to read without her name on it, but she totally swept me off my feet and it was a story that I did not want to put down.      Sadie is a criminal profiler and she relies on her background of being a victim to help her. She is smart and strong, intuitive and witty. But she puts herself inside the minds of criminals and while at work she is a good girl, she does have a place where that darker, wilder side comes out. She goes to a club where she watches dominants and submissives. She has a thing about people touching her and that is how she first bonds with Colton, who works at the club. He promises not to touch her unless or until she asks him to. When her personal life and her job crashes into one another, it really jars her, and we see some real character development starting inside Sadie.      The point of view mainly sticks with Sadie but we do get some dark looks into the mind of the UNSUB (unknown subject of investigation), and into the mind of sexy and dominant Colton. But we also get to see how much he obsesses over Sadie, how he thinks she is perfect and his pet name for her becomes Goddess.      Everything is even more personal than Sadie could have ever imagined, and the case that she caught not only brings up memories from when she was abducted and tortured, but she makes connections to history that she has studied to no end. In the crime scenes she sees messages that are at first subtle and then more and more personal and interconnected.      There were some really steamy scenes with Sadie and Colton. She comes to him for comfort, but it also reminds her of her past. Which is already being stirred up by the new cases that her and her partner keeps catching. It becomes personal and she begins to question everything and everyone. Understandably. But I also see some big steps of faith for her in trusting and it warmed my heart.      The mystery was intriguing and this book leaves us with a lot of questions and longing for more Sadie and Colton.  Bottom Line: Steamy, intense and dark, leaves you breathless and wanting more!

I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.  Where to begin... This is one of those reviews that is really hard to write because you can't find words to describe how good the book really is. I like to actually write well thought out reviews. The way to know that a book really blew my mind is when my reviews ramble on like this one is. I love Trisha's writing. This the third book of hers I've read and I loved the other two but this was something different. I knew from the time I read the first teaser that she posted for her street team, the Tuff Girl Legion, that I had to read this book. The second it came out. So of course I was ecstatic to receive an ARC. This book mixes an intense sexy romance with criminal profiling. I love a good sexy romance and honestly, criminal profiling is something I've found interesting for quite a while. So seeing these two things put into the same book had me turning pages (figuratively) like crazy. The tension between Colton and Sadie is so potent I could feel it radiating from the page and my breath got caught in my throat many times while reading their interactions. There is BDSM in this book but it isn't there just to be there, it is an integral part of the story. And I thought that is was so well done and so well written. I loved the multiple Points of View because I got to see inside the head of Sadie, Colton and the UNSUB. Trisha does an amazing job of pulling you into each world and her words are so beautiful. Even during chapters in the UNSUB's Point of View she infuses a beauty with her words into that dark world. I've always had this thing about good and evil, light and dark, what we are all really capable of. And this book explores that topic incredibly well. I can't say too much more without giving something away, but I can't recommend this book enough. Especially if you are into dark romantic thrillers.

Wow just wow! I don’t even know where to when talking about this book. I’m not going to say too much since I don’t want to ruin the story at all. This is definitely a story that everyone needs to read for him or herself. If you are someone who enjoys reading dark romance thrillers, this one is perfect for you! I am a huge fan of criminal dramas on tv and there a certain ones which are my favorite an I think that’s why I enjoyed this book so much! Through out reading I kept trying to figure out who the unsub was and I still have my thoughts. I liked how there were three different points of view, Sadie, Colt and the Unsub. The POV of the unsub let me dive into his mind for a little bit to try to figure out who he was. I still have no idea!!!!  I was so engrossed with this book that I could not put it down!!! I cant wait for Trisha to write the next one!!! I received an ARC of this book from the author for my honest review.

Its no secret that I love Trisha Wolfe and her work, and of course I was really excited when I found out about this thriller, and even more so when I saw that beautiful, sexy cover. Lets just say, I was NOT disappointed in this book. It exceeded all of my expectations and then some. I had been struggling to get into books lately, but I was sucked in from the first paragraph and I didn't want to put this book down. This isn't the first time that Trisha has re-kindled my love for reading, and I love her for it! This thriller was well written- as good as a James Patterson book, in my opinion- and extremely sexy. I love reading about Sadie`s struggles, and about Colt, and their uncertain relationship. I love how I was able to grow with Sadie, watch her come out of her shell a little, and I absolutely loved how I was stumped at every turn with the murder mystery Trisha wrote so freaking well. There is slight BDSM in it, but it goes so well with the characters and the theme of the book. And its not even fully BDSM. There is sexual contents, but OMG its completely set-your-kindle-on- fire hot and makes you want to read more of the passion that burns between our main characters. No words I can write will explain how amazing this book is. I didn't love the cliff hanger (yes, there is one), but man, I'm pumped for the next book! I can see myself reading this book over and over, and never tiring of it, and yes, I absolutely recommend With Visions of Red to anybody looking for a new read. I'm impatiently waiting for the next book, and I'm definitely going to continue to read Trisha Wolfe`s books. 5 out of 5 stars, and then some!
