I thought this book was so good! I actually overheard this girl gushing about this book to a friend of hers and I decided that I had to read it for myself-and I'm glad I did! I would definitely recommend this book!

For years now, Amanda (Amy) Griffin has been on the run, believed to be dead by all who love her except for a sherriff to whom she dared to tell the truth. She hold evidence and money that the mob wants, and when her sisters inherit a fortune, she knows they will become targets. Fearing for them, she comes out of hiding enough to contact Tracey and Marie, and to keep watch over them. She also reaches out to Luke Granger, the cop who knows her secret. With two deputies and a retired female officer, he makes it his mission in life to keep Amy and her sisters safe. .......... Hard questions about responsibility and why do bad things happen are dealt with unflinchingly. If you have read this author's earlier series, you will not be too suprised to know that the ladies will suffer before it's over. Multiple points of view and concurrent stories do leave each segment with an unfinished feel hopefully that means this is the first book in a chain, and the dangling threads will be tied off in a future volume.

I read all of the O'Malley series and several of her other books, and she is one of my favorite authors. So, when I saw that she had a new book, I just had to have it. Well, it was just terrific! I kept trying to put it down, but I was unable to. It is by far one of my favorite books.

Luke Granger is a deputy sherriff who isat the mall when a homicide occurs. While there he meets a woman who discovered the shootings at rhw jewelry store she works at. It turns out she has been on the run for five years. Three years later, Luke is now chief of police and a new set of occurences bring the woman back into his life. luke must protect both her and her two sisters. This book is labeled as a Christian book and as such their is no sex or alcohol. Once in awhile itis a little preachy for someone who does not normally read this genre. On the otherhand, it was refreshing to have these values in a crime novel.

Dee Henderson's books have all been great. I enjoy the Christian fiction and she always has me coming back for more. I was a little disappointed in the ending. I am hoping this is only the beginning to a great series. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend.

Deputy Chief of Police Luke Granger is in a shopping mall when a female tells him there is a woman in the ladies room who needs help. He rushes over there a shocked Kelly Brown (w ho is really Amanda Griffin who is on the run) informs him to go to the storeroom in Bressman¿s Jewelry where he¿ll find victims murdered by one of the worker¿s ex-husband. She also tells him that she can¿t stay because she is being chased by someone who wants her dead and she has been on the run for five years. --- Three years later, Amanda Griffin contacts Luke, telling him that the crime lord who wants her dead is in jail even though some of his loyal men are willing to kill her after they get the ledgers that belong to Robert Wise. Mandy came back because her sisters inherited a lot of money which is in the news and makes them a target of her enemy. Luke assures Maggie that he will keep her family safe so Mandy decides to stay awhile. Two deaths related to heir sisters¿ inheritance occur and the man who tried to kill her in New York City is in town. Another death occurs and Mandy decides that she will find the killer who is trying to destroy her and her loved ones. --- Dee Henderson has the magic touch when it comes to creating characters readers care about. The audience will find themselves crying, rooting for the killer to be found and hoping Mandy can find some happiness after eight years of running from a killer not knowing where to go so he can be safe. The deaths that occur weigh on her and the guilt almost destroys her but Luke, who cares about her, helps her carry her burden and her need to find the culprit. THE WITNESS is an exhilarating thriller that has enough action, romance and intrigue to grab and keep reader interest. --- Harriet Klausner

Police Chief Luke Granger met Amanda three years ago, and he hasn’t forgotten her. Amanda Griffin has been on the run for eight years from Richard Wise. Amanda holds the access to millions of ill-gotten funds, and a list of Richard’s contacts that she’s gradually turning over to the police. One mistake could snuff out her life; her family already thinks she is dead. Trouble arrives when her sisters receive a huge inheritance from the father they never knew. Afraid that Wise will take revenge on Marie and Tracey, Amanda moves back to town to keep an eye on them; and let them know she is still alive, for now. The Witness is a typical romance thriller. If you don’t mind the easy predicted script could be an enjoyable read about people dealing with murder, greed, lust and loss. If you like mystery with an offbeat romance…with conversations about God then you may like this book. Received e-book from the publisher for review

I have enjoyed all of Dee Henderson's books. She is a great author and has sold me again on Christian fiction which is why I was really anticipating The Witness. I found the beginning of the book very rivoting however as it went on it began to drag and the ending was disappointing. I will continue to read Dee's books because of the enjoyable experience I have had on all her previous writings but this one fell short for me.

Plot: I really enjoyed the plot. From page one, you are thrown into conflict and it doesn't end until the last chapter. There are so many twists and turns that when something begins to seem predictable, the story goes in another direction. Characters: It was hard to identify with the characters in this book. I understand that some of the characters needed to have their identities more shaded, but I felt that all of them were portrayed in this way. I didn't feel that there was enough personal qualities to really understand them. The characters were seen at work and in their relationships, but they were rarely alone and described personally. Themes: The main theme in this story is trust. The characters have to learn to trust each other through everything that is happening around them. There is also a focus on trusting in God in all of life's circumstances, good or bad. The author does an excellent job of allowing the characters to grow in trust from the very begging. Emotion: There was not a lot of emotional entanglement with this book. I read it and moved on. There wasn't a lot left to contemplate. There were times in the book when I was shocked or surprised, but overall, it was pretty dry. Overall: There were many times, while reading this book, that I had to re-read parts because they didn't seem to make sense. Many times, even after going back, those parts still didn't make a lot of sense. I feel as if this book as a whole needs some editing.

Suspense Thriller! Dee Henderson wrote another excellent novel. This book follows three sisters, Amanda, Marie & Tracey. Amanda witnessed a murder and has been living in the shadows in order to protect her sisters and stay alive herself. Her sisters recently inherited a large sum of money from their mysterious dead father and the police are preparing for the possibility that Amanda will come in from the cold to see her sisters who have no idea that she is alive. The police force is kept busy protecting everyone while at the same time trying to catch the bad guys and there are three special guys falling in love with the sisters.
