Overview

Working It Out: Drills, Spills and Thrills of an Aerobic Life is a collection of essays that addresses pressing questions such as:

• Where the hell do you think you're going?
• What kind of mother lets her kid wear that?
• What exactly is wrong with me?
• Are you serious right now?

In this book, Loren Martz reveals the secrets to her survival as a daughter, sister, student, wife, mother and personal trainer. From her warm-up as an insecure child to her emotional stretch into adulthood, through the endurance sport of marriage, frenetic pace of motherhood, and grueling stress tests of aging, injury and illness, she works out life's obstacles with heartfelt honesty and a heaping helping of humor.

About the Author

Loren Martz, a New Jersey native, defected to Long Beach, NY in 1991 where she raised three children with her husband of twenty-five years. A compulsive rhymer, over-confident do-it-your-selfer, fitness instructor, and admitted Lycraholic, she is well known in local circles as an over-doer. Less known, she has been a closeted writer for forty years, discreetly scrawling her written rants on napkins, loose leaf and eventually squirreling them away in My Documents, where they could be discovered and read in loving memory Over Her Dead Body. Working It Out: Drills, Spills and Thrills of an Aerobic Life is a collection of heart pounding memories and observations that would still be in lock down if not for the enthusiastic encouragement of her misguided family.
So you can blame them.
