I am a 48 year old man and I initially read the Crystal Moon, World of Grayham, only because I met the author at [...] in Salt Lake. I decided to purchase it through Amazon and have since found myself to be pleasantly surprised. Some of the reviews I read before my purchase ranged from terrible, to exceptional, and I wasn't sure what to expect. I found the characters to be enjoyable. There are so many different beings introduced within the story that I imagine the depth of each character will continue to grow as the series grows. It was entertaining to see how the gods paved the way for the three main characters to soften their transition while entering the new worlds. Sam, Shalee, and even the scum bag, George was now being asked to accept a new truth. They found that the reality they lived on Earth was no longer. Everything in this new world was what they formerly believed to be fantasy, and was going to become their new reality. This concept was forced down their throats quickly, allowing the author to get to the meat of the story sooner. I enjoyed Sam's inner conflict. Yes, he was brilliant, but he also has a dark side and despite being a child prodigy at the age of 16, graduating with his medical degree, he found a love for combat after taking up the sport of mixed martial arts. I think this contrast and inner turmoil was unusual and added a fresh and pertinent depth to this man's rage that he carried within. I found this rage to be a modern day, Mr. Hyde living inside Sam (Dr. Jekyll). Shalee was fun to follow. From her meltdown on the Griffon's platform at the Temple of the Gods to the use of her new powers as a sorceress, I loved her, finding her tenderness and sassiness to be engaging. I look forward to her future growth. Now George, oh what can I say about this piece of work? This guy is the dirty rotten scum bag that all of us know from somewhere. He is a master manipulator and is thoroughly enjoyable to read as he twists everything to his advantage. I could not get enough of this guy and found myself liking his scheming mind. I will not say anything further since I already feel you get my drift. Now, Mr. Jones told me when I met him that his book had a quick edit and wasn't a full edit. Apparently he wanted some initial feedback from the readers on the storyline before going national with the story. He asked for opinions on the characters development and whatever came to mind. Apparently he has only printed a few copies of his second edition of book one. He told me to look past any edit issues and give constructive feedback. I can think of no better way to give this feedback than to leave my review here on Amazon and say that I thoroughly disagree with the people who find this book to be anything less than a masterpiece. It is about time that someone broke the mold on how a story is written and went right for the jugular with the action.

You must read WOTCM-World of Grayham! Especially in it's final edition. It's very rare that a book can capture your interest in the first few sentences you read. This book did just that for me. I am reading it now. In fact, I put aside the other books I have to read yet because I was drawn to read this one first & I'm glad I did! I have not been disappointed with my choice! Books for me need to spark my imagination, so I like the attention to detail and the vivid imagination that goes long with this book. Very enjoyable! Thank you, Phillip "BIG Dog" Jones! Keep up the good work & I'm looking forward to reading more of your fantastic work!

My 14 year old daughter came home from the Space Needle the other day and was carrying this book in her hand. Apparently, her best friend found it at her uncle¿s house when she visited her uncle in Salt Lake City. After the book sat on my kitchen counter for a few days, I snagged it and read it. This novel was a refreshing change from the Danielle Steele novels I usually read. I am hooked and will read the entire series. After logging onto Facebook, I was able to engage the author and ask questions. I decided to leave this review because of my experience.

The book was recommended to me by my 80 year old mother. I was so floored to find out that she liked fantasy that I decided to read it myself. After reading Crystal Moon, World of Grayham, I have decided that I will take more recommendations from my mother. What a really fun book. This was a great escape from the murder mystery novels I usually read. I don¿t normally post reviews, but I¿ll make an exception on this series. How fun!

When I saw the cover, I became immediately interested in this book. Then, I saw the inside art and was drawn in further. The color images really give the characters life while the drawings inside add greatly. As a reader, the artwork definitely enhanced the story and gave great insight into Phillip Jones¿ vision for various scenes. One thing I would have liked to see more of was more art. The storyline keeps moving and although there are lots of characters, Big Dog helps straighten the reader out through the Grayham Inquirers. These newspaper updates were extremely helpful, especially as the story became more twisted and intertwined. My son and I both read this. We had lots of chuckles about George¿s antics and how the Gods toyed with each other, playing games, making bets and then having to pay up. What a scream.

I'm not much of a fantasy reader at all but I make exceptions now & then. A friend bought me this book (Worlds of Grayham) for Christmas & I couldn't put it down! Just couldn't wait for what happens next & I found at the end of the book, I couldn't wait to get to the next one, because Phillip Jones creates a wonderful segeway anchoring you to the anticipation you are feeling to continue the story. The adventure Sam, Shalee & George take you on is a rollercoaster ride of emotion & intrigue. The quest to find the pieces of the Crystal Moon is magical & mind blowing. It is far from your wildest dreams because it is more. Even before I finished reading it, I was recommending it and now that I'm finished, I'm doing a high-dive in to the next.

I play WOW and when I picked up this book, the first 30 pages of color pictures reminded me of the game. When I started reading it, I found the story to be engaging and I wanted it to be a game. I could imagine the rides on the griffin from Griffin Falls to Angels Village. The encounter George had with the Saber Lord and the giant cat, Kepler was like going on a quest. It was a blast. There were too many times, I kept thinking to myself, I want to go there. I hope this gets turned into a game before it becomes a movie. That¿s much more interactive. Gamers will get this book.

My daughter encouraged me to read this book. It sat on a pile for quite a while. I kept looking at it, but everytime I would start to pick it up, I got distracted with something else. I thought I would never get to it. Finally, I did read it. Once I got started, I had a hard time putting it down. All my daughter could say to me was, ¿I told you it was good.¿ Okay, okay. (that¿s funny¿it¿s in the book) She was right. George is by far my favorite character. He¿s complicated, driven, and willing to do what it takes for those he loves¿even if it is destroying someone here or there. This is one of the best books I¿ve read in a long time.

I really had a fun time reading this book, World of Grayham. My girlfriend lent me it to read & after reading it, I had to buy my own. The pictures & maps in the front are very nice & creates a great visual for what you are about to read. The story keep me wanting more; Sam's quest to become a great warrior, Shalee's journey to her unknown power, George's resortfulness. All the creatures you get to meet along the way and these really interesting "gods". Very real characters I could relate to and understand how they reacted to everything. Like I said, fun & I have recommended the read to my friends & family.

I eagerly waited to read the final edition of this wonderful book, World of Grayham and my wait was not in vain! I was delighted with the changes which were made to the storyline, editing issues were fixed & the characters have much more personality. I was able to relate on a deeper level. Thank you, Phillip Jones. This book took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions...laughing hysterically, crying, excited & cringing during the fighting battles. I cannot think of anything this book doesn't have. The visuals were incredible as well. Phillip Jones has an incredible way of making you feel as if you are traveling through his world. If you are looking for a book to take you on an amazing adventure, this is the book for you!

Very easy to read & the flow of it is wonderful. I just loved the artwork. The characters are great. I especially enjoyed the "so called" gods. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great read. Crystal Moon World of Grayham has alot to offer its reader. Along with the beautiful artwork at the beginning of the book with maps to guide you along, you have action, mystery, romance, magic, conflict, intrigue and much more. You go on an amazing adventure following George (who I just love to hate), Sam & Shalee who are trying to recover the lost pieces of the crystal moon. You will also meet many more interesting characters (Gods & animals alike) along the way. This book is full of ups & downs & I enjoyed every minute of it! I have suggested this book to all my friends & family.

Crystal Moon - World of Grayham is as strong a fantasy book as I've read. It rivals the others (we all know who they are) and I believe Phillip Jones is fresh and his originality oozes scene by scene. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

It is a book which I actually enjoyed every minute of, the characters are so real to life that you can actually imagine having met them at some point. The skillfully created imagery you find through out results in an experience that allows you to feel as though you are watching everything as it unfolds. This book is one that is written in a fashion that draws you right into the action, and has been amaizing to read. I can hardly wait for book 2. Therefore, that is why I am recommending it and have recomended it to many friends and family.

This book was purchased for me as a gift. I was not too sure about it since I am generally not a fan of fantasy; however, I was quickly drawn into this author's work. He has an exceptional imagination and the book was well-written and full of twists and turns. A truly unique story! I have already recommended to others. Looking forward to the rest of the series (and hopefully a movie)!

Holy freaking cow, this book was one killer ride. I cannot wait for the second book and the final edition of book one to come out this December. I think this series is going to blow the socks off books like Harry Potter and Twilight. Man oh man... you've got to read this. I have told all my friends about it!

I know there will be people who either Love it, or Hate it. I know I have fallen into the catigory of LOVE IT! The way you are drawn into the authors world of Grayham from the first page. This book has been a great read from the start. I love how the characters are 'real'. The whole idea is so unique, it definitely belongs in a realm to itself. I have read many books from many different genre and have really enjoyed how this book, this 'world' has evolved. I look very forward to the other 5 books and what they bring. Thank you 'Big Dog' for having such an amazing dream and letting the world become a part of it.

Amazing Book! Crystal Moon, World of Grayham took only three chapters to catch my attention and keep me peaked for the rest of this truly wonderful and amazing ride into another world, that is vivid in imagination, color and realistic fiction. I could picture myself as George becoming powerful and gaining all kinds of friends as Creatures, Animals and Humans. I could feel myself wishing to be Sam with his power and intelligence learning how to fight in this world as a Martyr to find the audience of the King. To follow Shaylee who becomes so strong with her power, she is able to protect Sam and her friends. And then there is a pet rat that can alter other peoples thinking, and only wants a piece of cheese for his reward. There are so many other colorful and delightful characters that you will enjoy reading about. Take a moment and truly do yourself a favor and add this book to your list. You will be pleasantly surprised on not only the story but how Phillip Jones' writing style will capture your attention and keep you spellbound till the very end when you finally read the very last word then wanting more... And soon, as I see Crystal Moon, Magic of Luvelles, will be out in December. I can't wait for this book.

I have been reading Science Fiction and Fantasy books since I was 13 years old and I'm now 74. I would put this book up there with my top favorite books. The plot does enough twists and turns that you never know what will happen next and the biggest problem I have with this book is trying to put it down to get something done around the house. It is one of the best written books that I have read in a long time. I have just added another author to my top favorite list. If you do nothing else for yourself this year, get this book and read it. It is worth every penny you spend for it. The characters are well written and strong and so is the plot.

Worlds of the Crystalmoon may very well be the beginning of a new era in fantasy writing. Phillip E. Jones is not the next Tolkien nor is he the next JK Rowling and he most assuredly is not the next Terry Goodkind. These other three authors have been my absolute favorites for most of my adult life - but Phillip is without a doubt not the "next" anyone but rather the very first of a new kind of author. I sincerely believe he is ready to stand along side of these three greats and hold his head high as their equal. He says that the worlds he writes about came to him in his dreams - to which I say "please go back to sleep and find out for us what happens next". From the very first page of Crystalmoon - World of Grayham I was inexplicably drawn into the work. The struggle between good and evil will never be seen in the same light again. I found the book impossible to put down and finished the 600 plus pages in a matter of 3 days. Then I picked it back up and started again from the beginning. This second time thru I savored the intricacies of the storyline and took time to really enjoy the fabulous illustrations. This was necessary due to the fact that the first time thru the story had me so entranced that I simply couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Phillip has built worlds of great depth and peopled them with characters that are believable, lovable and hateable. I have never awaited a next book in a series with more anticipation than I am now waiting for book two of Crystalmoon. The book is touted as being for ages 13 and up - but boy oh boy are there ever plenty of plot lines to keep the adults guessing and laughing. It was truly a fortunate day for me when I happened to stop at Costco for a couple of things and chanced upon Phillip Jones signing copies of his book and more importantly taking the time to share himself and his story with a fantasy junkie like me. When this book hits the big screen in a few years it will truly be my pleasure to remember that I met the author and read the book before anyone else that I knew and that some of my comments to Phillip might even help to shape the next books in the series. Do yourself a favor - buy this book and welcome yourself to a bright new fantasy world.

This is an extremely fascinating book. The characters are quite different and interesting. I enjoyed all of the different creatures I met along the way. They were incredibly unique. The vivid descriptions of everything from the beautiful scenery to the brutal fights were excellent. The writers imagination and creativity is unbelievable. I have read many books and have never found any of them as exceptional as I find this one. It held my attention throughout the entire book. I could hardly put it down and when I did the story stayed in my mind for a long time. I am truly excited to read the rest of the series.

The author has a very creative imagination. He has created a world unlike others of the fantasy Genre. I have been engaged in the reading since the introduction. World of Grayham was a perfect start to what may be one of the best fantasy series I've ever read. The imagination of Philip Jones is incredible, the worlds that he creates and characters that he develop are unbelievably good. As I read through each chapter I instantly found myself immersed in their world, it was spellbinding; everything you'd wish for in a good fantasy book. One of my favorite cool features in the book is . "The Grayham Inquirer". Jones provides a tabloid of sort to help the reader follow (or stalk in the case of Sam!) the characters and previous events. You will absolutely be blown away with the creativeness, I loved the writing skill and how things seemed to fit together. Not to mention the exciting adventures. After reading World of Grayham, I get the feeling it was just the "tip of the iceberg" in terms of the over-all story Jones has created. I'll waste no time finding a copy of his second book. This will be a series that everyone should read. Get into the worlds of the Crystal Moon now, you won't regret it."

This is a marvelous book full of wonder and adventure. The well written characters are great and brilliant. I love George! George is so bad it makes him good. The kind of person you love to hate. The story is so imaginative, taking science to a new diverse level. It was definitely a page turner, I was so eager to find out what would happen next. Crystal Moon took me on a roller coaster ride that I didn't want to get off of. I cannot wait for the rest of the books to come out. I would absolutely recommend this book to all of my reading family and friends.

Great characters and unexpected twists in the plot will catch you by surprise. What a mixture of good and evil! Kept me reading to see what would happen next and to whom. Very visual and great supportive cast. Can't wait for the next book.
