About the Author
Larry Phifer loves everything about picture books: small words, big pictures, happy endings. "It's the perfect formula," says Larry. "I've never read Sam McBratney's Guess How Much I Love You or Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree and not felt happier than I did before. In any case, the good ones move you." Larry wrote World on a String because, like his protagonist, Charlie, he lost something very special. A native Texan, Larry lives in his hometown of El Paso, with his beautiful wife and four crazy dogs.

Such a beautiful message. Like "The Giving Tree" or "Oh, The Places You'll Go," this book will be appreciated by adults and children.
When I saw the cover for this book, I knew I had to read it. The artwork is beautiful, warm, and comforting. It is a story about a boy that loses his best friend, and has to find peace through his grief. It is a beautiful, uplifting story that gently addresses an issue that most of us face from time to time. The text is written in rhyme that flows nicely and is easy to read. This is also available as an ebook and as an app.
Beautifully illustrated, touching story that helps children deal with loss. Love this book!
This is a different kind of picture book and I really enjoyed it. It's a simple and wonderful story about friendship and loss (with a happy ending), and is beautifully illustrated by Popovici. Highly recommended!
