Robert Wicks succeeded in compiling the de facto best book about adventure motorcycling. 30 of the best adventure motorcyclists penned the individual chapters and tell you first hand from their experience riding these routes. Together, they offer a body of knowledge one author alone could have never provided. The photos (400!) are world class, the maps are outstanding, and unlike other books, it doesn't focus too much on quickly outdated motorcycles and technologies. However, if you need tips regarding bike, maps, equipment, health, climate, visa, you will find plenty of them in the book. Some of the suggested routes are extremely long and would take months to complete, but you could take sections to find a shorter adventure that fits into your schedule.  This wonderful books makes you want to fill up the tank and leave for the unknown adventure in the middle of the night!
