For those (grownups and others) who love to read about the lively misadventures of childhood this book is for you. The characters are lovable for their foibles as well as their energetic spirits. I enjoyed reliving the frustration of navigating between fantasy play and a growing sense of "real world" adult expectations. Like C.S. Lewis' Narnia series, one doesn't have to be young to enjoy it. However, unlike Lewis' classic, this book is not an allegory. I'm tucking this one away until I have grandkids!

Parents and children alike will enjoy investing in a classic fantasy by E. Nesbit. Referenced as the inspiration of many of todays Fantasy legends, she knew how to talk to kids, on their level, and with their language. These books are wonderful listening for loooong car rides, or just a bedtime read-aloud, but of course for individual pleasure as well.
