Writing Books for Fun, Fame & Fortune!

What expertise do you have in business? What are your hobbies? Which of your unique life experiences can others learn from? What are you passionate about in life?

If you have knowledge that could relieve someone else’s pain, solve their problem, or show someone else how to get ahead, then you are ready to write a book.

In these difficult economic times, it’s actually easier than ever to write and publish a book. Use the simple, but sure-fire methods described within this book so you can establish your expertise in your chosen field of business to develop a steadily increasing income stream while doing what you love to do to provide solutions to help other people.

“This is a great book for moms, future experts, and problem-solvers; a must for coaches, consultants, and speakers. Is there a book inside you? I’ll bet there is and I look forward to seeing it in print.”
~ Dan Poynter, The Self-Publishing Manual - 16th Edition

“Finally, a book that tells writers how to create a nonfiction book that gets results. It takes you step-by-creative step through an otherwise circuitous process; resulting in a book you will be proud to call your own.”
~ Brian Jud / Author of How to Make Real Money Selling Books and Beyond the Bookstore

"As an author with several books under my belt from big publishing houses, I opened Rik Feeney's latest work with no small amount of skepticism. What could I possibly learn? And then I read it all the way to the end in one sitting. The book business is in a state of almost daily upheaval, and Rik Feeney has taken lessons from the past, melded them with contemporary market realities, and applied all of that to what we might expect in the future. In addition to being a masterful communicator who writes with great clarity and abiding good humor, Feeney arms writers with all the weapons they need for success, from methodology and nuts 'n bolts writing tools, to savvy wisdom about marketing. It's clear that Feeney had lots of fun writing this book. Here's hoping it brings fame and fortune to him and everyone who reads it."
~ Bob Morris / Author of Deadly Silver Sea, Baja Florida

“Rik Feeney's Writing Books for Fun, Fame & Fortune is the perfect intro guide to writing. It's clear, concise, and packed with solid advice for writing and marketing the author and his/her work. Rik Feeney's "Writing Books for Fun, Fame & Fortune" takes the difficult task of writing a book, especially with no background in writing, and makes it a manageable task. As both a writer and publisher, his pearls make his book even more valuable. Best of all, he adds humor to the whole process!

Writing Books for Fun, Fame and Fortune! By Rik Feeney is a how-to book that combines the author's puckish sense of humor with practical and do-able suggestions for the experienced and novice writer alike. Feeney insists that fiction writers can and should write non-fiction thus "saving (them) from years of eating Ramen noodles." The strategies Feeney has outlined in his book are applicable to any genre of writing. In addition, this book could easily be used by students who find writing difficult. I highly recommend this book, and would suggest that writing and composition teachers consider adapting some of the strategies in it for classroom use.

It's very possible this little book could replace several others on any writer's resource bookshelf. It has a permanent home on my desk, right beside my two other regularly used references: Yahoo! and Chicago style guides. Rik's fun, motivational and easy to read and understand book is ideal for many writing applications including newsletters, articles, term papers and both fiction and non-fiction books. His step by step systems take all the guesswork out of the process of writing a book. He even includes the type of targeted and relevent marketing information that a writer needs to focus and aim their project for success! Thanks to this coach/author/publisher for writing such a concise and valuable tool not only for the novice writer, but for us veterans as well. Bravo! Nancy Quatrano Author/Copywriter/Editor

I just finished Rik Feeney's "Writing Books for Fun, Fame and Fortune!" It has tons of useful information that I can implement without a lot of prep work or any fancy software or hardware requirements for both my non-fiction and fiction work. It's inspired me to get off my duff and actually write instead of just talking about writing or thinking about writing. I've already laid out the cards for two technical pamphlets that I've been kicking around for a few years. Now that I've got my cards on the table, I can pick them up whenever I have ten or fifteen minutes and start writing, not wait til I have a large block of time. I have a large collection of books on writing, many of which sit on the shelves after the first reading. Rik's book is going to be read and utilized time and time again. Filled with tips, Rik's terrific sense of humor comes through, making this a fun read. I've shared it with fellow writers and my family. My kids are using the techniques for their term papers! I met Rik Feeney at a writers critique group that I attend regularly. He was a guest lecturer that night and I have to say that the advice that he gave during that lecture really motivated me and made me realize that the process of writing a book does not have to be so painful. He brought about 20 copies of his book to that lecture and within minutes of the lecture, all the books were sold out. I took the book home with me and I read it cover to cover in about a day. I found it very easy to read, the tips he gives in the book are really practical and I have implemented his suggestions into my own approach for writing. I think the most valuable advice he gave to me as a fiction writer is that I can take all the life experience I have, all the knowledge I have gained from the jobs I have worked and I can use my expertise to help someone else. In turn, those how-to books could well help me pay the bills while I write fiction. He made me realize that I don't have to fall into a category of being a fiction writer vs a non-fiction writer. I can be both. Thank you Mr. Feeney.
