About the Author

Pembroke Sinclair is a literary jack of all trades, playing her hand at multiple genres. She has written an eclectic mix of fiction ranging from horror to sci-fi and even some westerns. Born in Rock Springs, Wyoming--the home of 56 nationalities--it is no wonder Pembroke ended up so creatively diverse. Her fascination with the notions of good and evil, demons and angels, and how the lines blur have inspired her writing. Pembroke lives in Laramie, Wyoming, with her husband, two spirited boys, a black lab named Ryder, and a rescue kitty named Alia, who happens to be the sweetest, most adorable kitty in the world! She cannot say no to dessert, orange soda, or cinnamon. She loves rats and tatts and rock and roll and wants to be an alien queen when she grows up. STORY LINE WUCAII: In Wucaii, author Pembroke Sinclair, has created an intensely entertaining fantasy fiction novel. Human/dragon hybrid Aelana left home 500 years ago. During her time away, she has saved people and destroyed worlds. She's back bringing salvation for people willing to listen and heed. Having spent her life destroying and saving, Aelana has known trials, tribulations, lost of her lifelong love, and loneliness. While on her home planet, she will encounter the reincarnation of her lost love. Will they be able to survive the coming apocalypse? Can they save the people and defeat the evil stalking them? Grab your favorite beverage and have a seat; my fantasy fiction novel review of Wucaii follows. CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, AND DEVELOPMENT: Firstly, let me say, how much I enjoyed this fantasy fiction novel. Although I read and review fantasy, it is not my favorite genre. However, Wucaii, was intriguing from the first page and held my attention throughout. I look forward to reading more by Sinclair. Secondly, I found the character development by author Pembroke Sinclair, spot on as she progressively developed each character. With the addition of the background and look into Aelana's life, I felt I came to know and love her. All good fantasy novels must have a villain; Sinclair surprises the reader with the identity of her villain. Willing to do anything to achieve the goals set, this villain will kill, cheat, and lie. You will love to hate this villain. Furthermore, the pacing will keep you on the edge of your seat as you progress through the story. Sinclair brought all the story-lines together to craft a cohesive novel. Finally, in concluding my review of Wucaii, I found this book an enjoyable and entertaining read containing all the elements needed to enmesh the reader into the story-line. With vivid descriptions, and well-crafted prose, Sinclair gained a fan with this treat. WUCAII RECOMMENDATION; STARS 4 In addition, I found this novel suitable for young adults and adults. I found Wucaii a clean well-written novel; the author had no need of fluff to increase the page count or sex to sell her story-line. Wucaii contains a well-thought out premise. FINALLY, PLEASE NOTE: Additionally, I received this book from the author and chose to voluntarily review the book with an honest fantasy fiction novel review. Lastly, book reviews of any novel are dependent on the book review author’s opinion. Consequently, all book reviews on-line and on my blog, are my opinions. In addition, the ARC did not affect my voluntary fantasy fiction novel review.

Treasures...the book world is an open treasure chest of rare gems...Some are true gold...some copper...some bronze, some tin, some...imitations. WUCAII, for me, Ladybug Lin, is one of the rarest of literary metals...iridium. Like the metal, WUCAII is the rarest of literary finds...a book that grabs you, holds you, changes you, and leaves you knowing a part of your soul has been reached. This book will remain with me in the same way GONE WITH THE WIND by Margaret Mitchell, THE LAST DAY by Glenn Kleier, Becoming Nadia, by Cyrus Keith, ROCK OF REALM by Lea Schizas, HIDDEN by Kat Holmes, CELEBRITY IN DEATH by J.D. Robb, THUNDER MOUNTAIN by Rachel Lee, THE LIGHTHOUSE by Kat Holmes, THREE MILES BELOW by Kevin Hopson, THE WICKWARE SAGAS by Penny Estelle, and DARK SLAYER by Christine Feehan have. I've been around a really long time and have been an avid reader since I was young enough to read. Over the decades I have read a LOT of books that I liked...and there are authors I have loved...but these are not books I LOVED...these are books that profoundly reached into me touching and changing something at my deepest part. These are books that I will never forget...and MUST reread. WUCAII by Pembroke Sinclair joins that small, by comparison, list of books I will never be without...will never lose...I'll take with me no matter where or how far my body travels. This is a review about WUCAII...how do I begin? I am in awe of the majesty of the universe. Our scientists are only NOW beginning to "see" beyond our own solar system...the colors, the energy, the amazing design staggers me...and that same staggering awe is what Pembroke Sinclair has woven in this story of death, rebirth, hope, destruction, death, rebirth and hope.  The Universe is our playground, but it is first and foremost eternal, therefore protected by powers beyond our limited understanding.  Dragons, created at the same moment of the Big Bang are charged with making certain the creatures inhabiting the planets, galaxies, etc, do not destroy the core of each world. When planets are sick from pollution, misuse, arrogant abuse, only through the cleansing rebirth of fire, can planets take back their purity and begin again. WUCAII by Ms. Pembroke is powerfully written, and speaks to my soul. This is a MUST read to all who know everything we are/have comes from the center of our earth. It's a living, sentient entity that will annihilate what destroys it and reclaim its purity by calling upon the protections of the eternal dragons... BRILLIANT... WUCAII deserves more than five stars, but that is all I am currenlty allowed to bestow upon it... So FIVE STARS!

One word- DRAGONS!!! I happen to like them very much, but let me say that this one is quite unique. Think dragon apocalypse. Firstly, the dragons come when it’s time for each planet to have a little apocalypse and cleanse it of all the bad, and give it a fresh start, so the planets aren’t completely depleted before it’s too late. There happens to be one girl, who is a dragon shifter hybrid. She was born human, but now is a dragon shifter- she turns into a magnificent dragon. She’s literally the bringer of doom.  When she lands on each planet, it’s because she is signalling the time. Pretty cool, eh?  So, Aelana is your hybrid. She has lost a bit, as in everything. She lost most of her humanity when she shifted, then her family, and her true love- who rejected her when he found out centuries ago- her material possessions. But she has the dragons, who treat her more equal than her human counterparts did before she turned. And then she meets the reincarnation of her true love. This is the first time she’s questioning if she should let the planet be destroyed. And now, she’s worried that there isn’t enough time to reconnect because he has no idea who she is, though he does know the end is coming.  I like Aelana. She’s strong, she sometimes doesn’t think like a human-but she isn’t really- and she can be funny in a not meaning to way. She’s always followed through with her orders, until now. She’s caught between saving her love and her home planet, and following the rules of the dragon world. Kalen is your typical good guy cop. He’s intrigued because he feels a connection to Aelana, but isn’t sure why. His best friend and his adopted father run a church that have signaled that it’s the end of the world, and he’s a believer, except that he wants to save as many people as possible and help everyone he can. He’s a little like a hero, except the heroes usually have something more than human, and well, he’s human.  I really liked this one. It got a little confusing at first with Aelana in the present and Aelana having flashbacks to when she was human, but then I realized that there were a lot of things I learned from those flashbacks. I learned about the people in Aelana’s life that shaped her to be who she has become. I also learned some things about the dragons and who they are and how they work. They also aren’t always the bad guy. There’s some mystery as a lot of people want to kill the hybrid, and get their hands on her power. Plus, you will be surprised at how things all fall into place. I’m definitely a fan!! 4.5 FIERY APOCALYPTIC PAWS!!
