Ok, so this one was better than the other two X-Files novels I've read (Goblins & Whirlwind) probably because of the different author. It had a better story, & lots of suspense. I liked the fact that it wasn't in a domestic environment like the other two; instead, it was in the middle of a jungle which made it creepier in my opinion. However, this guy didn't put as much funny banter between Mulder & Scully like the other guy. There was some, but not near the amount of the other two I read. Overall, though, the best X-Files book I've read so far.

I give Ruins a total A+. It's a great book that keeps you reading nonstop until the end and even then you still are reluctant to put it down! It's great suspense near the end that keeps your adrenaline going.

Kevin Anderson is very talented when it comes to taking this series, putting its action into words and making it last about two hours (if you read it through all at one time). Though, he's no Chris Carter, he really captures the essance of the X-Files, Scully, and Mulder in this book. Not to mention the suspense it creates. You know there is going to be a climax point, and when it hits, the adrenaline is non-stop. The characters, such as the protagonist Fernando Aguilar, keeps you fearful and on guard when reading, and then surprise characters such as the Mexican Police Officer who threw 'the curve ball' in this story. Not to mention Anderson's well done imagery and I'm guessing well-done research into the Mayan cultures living, and in imagizing the Xitaclan. On the Brink of perfection! Jenphillian

I have recently finished reading The X-Files: Ruins and found it very hard to put down. The begining starts off a little slow, but by the middle of the book things get very exciting and I just couldn't stop reading. I'd recomend this book for someone who is a fan of the X-Files or someone who just enjoys suspensful, mysterious, science-fiction novels.

The X-Files: Ruins have an very interesting subject. A team of archeologs mistereously disapeard searching for the ruins of an old Maya temple so, special agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully must find them. The book contains very much action and suspense. It was erited by my favourite author Kevin J. Anderson.
