I use this sometimes, must admit not my favorite. Sorry. I think there are better books available.

This is a great reference guide for those who are new to XML. This book makes learning XML easy and enjoyable.

This pocket reference could almost be called a 'mini-introduction to XML.' The basic concepts of XML, like what a 'well-formed XML document is,' descriptions of XML elements and attributes, and document type definitions are described here. There's also a section devoted to Xtensible StyleSheet Language, which as its name implies is the 'stylesheet' used with an XML document. Code examples throughout the book help illustrate each concept and make it easier to grasp the information presented. XML is still an evolving technology and the book's author acknowledges this. Even so, this is a nice guide to refer to about basic XML rules.

This book should be subtitled: 'Learn the Basics of XML in Under an Hour'.
