I could barely finish it. I cannot handle waffly characters, and Poppy was the worst of the worst when it came to changing her mind every freaking chapter. On top of that, her character just wasn’t believable. I mean, first and foremost, a single mother isn’t going to be able to afford to rent a duplex and pay for school on a part-time work from home salary, and a single-mother with as much independence as Poppy supposedly has wouldn’t risk a degree in a field as unpredictable as creative writing without a promise of a career after school. I get that it’s fiction and I’m supposed to suspend my belief, but there just wasn’t enough backstory or explanation to be effective. The whole story seemed way too easy and uneventful, and there was almost no conflict besides Poppy’s annoying “should I or shouldn’t I” nature. All in all, I’m disappointed that I spent $.99 on this book and I don’t think I’m going to be reading this author again.

Xo, Zach is a beautiful poetic love story. I came across this book; it was like a sponsored ad by the author. Where it mentioned poetry, I’m like done. That sealed the deal. I’ve been writing poetry since I was a teenager, some may know, some may not know. But it’s a part of who I am no matter the length it has been since I last wrote something. I think in away I understood the passion that Zach had for Poppy. He really, truly was meant for her. And her for him. I’m not going to say; there aren’t those cheesy moments. And I felt that the Epilogue was a little rushed. Just a lot of info, in a few pages. And the true core of this story was so meaningful. That you just melted, like could Zach be real? Xo, Zach is the first book of Kendall’s I’ve read; The writing style was effortless. That right there, I feel is a real talent, and I may or may not have teared up throughout the story. Overall, I give this Five Boundless Stars. I loved it.

xo, Zach by Kendall Ryan (Audiobook) Narrated by Sebastian York and Andi Arndt 3 Stars - This book was pretty good. I liked the premise, however from the summary I was hoping for more letters/poems than there was. Zach and Poppy had good banter between each other and the story moved along nicely. Both narrators did a wonderful job as usual. ~ Paragraphs and Petticoats ~

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I LOVED this story. It was absolutely perfect. It is about a romance between a graduate student, Poppy and her grad student supervisor. Zach, is not her teacher, he just meets with her to discuss her writing and so it really was not this huge taboo type of relationship. The bigger issues in this story is Poppy and I don't want to let too many spoilers out but let us say that Poppy is not your average college student. She has responsibilities and for most of the book it is why she hesitates with Zach and telling him her secrets. Zach is all in but he also wants to go to NY the following year so Poppy worries how much of a future they can have, What you should know is Zach is a total sweetheart and he falls hard for Poppy. I loved that he is NOT someone who sleeps around and he sees how wonderful Poppy is right away. I loved this book it had fun and engaging characters. I loved how romantic Zach was, and I loved how he slipped love notes in Poppy's back pack and she had to figure out who was sending it. Truly a fun and wonderful romance I highly recommend and one I am sure I will re-read.

xo, Zach by Kendall Ryan is a standalone romance filled with humor, forbidden love, and some angst thrown in for good measure. Starring Zach Austin, an academic advisor, for graduate students in the creative writing program and Poppy Ellis, the woman he falls head over heels for. A damsel-in-distress, Zach is more than happy to help the beautiful Poppy when she approaches him during a college party to pretend to be her date. The exchange an unforgettable kiss, but no numbers. If they meet again, it was meant to be. Serendipitously, they do meet again when Zach meets his new graduate student that he will be advising, Poppy. The attraction and sexual tension running between these two is strong, but Poppy holds back because she doesn’t want to hurt her student status or risk his job. Luckily, for us readers, that doesn’t stop Zach as he romantically pursues his Poppy! The anonymous letter he sends is so sweet. The teasing and banter is fun between the two of them. Though there are times it does seem “the lady doth protest too much, methinks”, but it becomes understandable why Poppy is hesitant to start any relationship more than friendship with Zach. But how can she resist! He’s so endearing! xo, Zach is an enjoyable read with two main characters that connect and build a friendship and a romantic relationship with one another. Zach’s focus and pursuit of Poppy is very cute and I just l loved him. Throw in Zach’s mom (she’s hilarious) supporting him as his “wingman” and no wonder Poppy falls for him. The other supporting characters like Poppy’s neighbors, Jodee and Kody are also standouts as well. Enjoyed how supportive they were and how they added to the story. Overall, xo, Zach by Kendall Ryan is a humorous romantic novel that I happily recommend and can’t wait to read another book by Ms. Ryan. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book I received for free in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)

xo, Zach is...sigh. (The dopey grinned, sigh of absolute contentment.) This book is sweet and all around wonderful. Zach is the definition of perfect. He's gorgeous with some ink. He has a wickedly naughty mouth, a great sense of humor, and he is uniquely in touch with his emotions. He has a job, he writes, and he owns his own house. I can't possibly come up with all the ways I want to knock a certain someone out of the way and snatch him up myself. (Don't tell my hubs.) Oh and he's ready for love...likes kids...hangs out with his mom on occasion. Seriously, I feel like you aren't getting the amazingness- totally a word, a made up word, but a word nonetheless- that is Zach. Did I mention patient, kind, and extremely considerate? ( I know I sound like grandma trying to set up their grandkids.) xo, Zach is just...sigh. Well Zach is sigh worthy! All kinds of sighs... exasperated lustful tired fulfilling... Plenty of sighs to go around.

xo, Zach opens following Poppy as she gets dragged to a party by her neighbor. When her ex-boyfriend shows up with his new girlfriend she approaches a random guy and asks him to pretend to be her date. The two have an instant connection but Poppy soon finds out that this guy is her advisor for her graduate program. Despite their situation, Zach decides he still wants to try having a relationship with Poppy. Poppy and Zach are the definition of an angsty romance! The two are clearly attracted to each other from the beginning. However they are at different stages in their lives and have different wants driving their decisions. I really appreciate that wile they were trying to figure out where they stood with other they stayed mature about the other's decision even if they weren't on the same page. Poppy and Zach's relationship may have been a little unconventional but it was adorable! xo, Zach is the first book I've read by Kendall Ryan and I'm happy this was my introduction to her work. I look forward to reading more from her. Especially if I can leave her books with the same warm, fuzzy feeling I had by the time I finished this story.

This is one of the most swoon worthy forbidden romances I have ever read. I could not put it down. Kendall has stuck to her guns with writing a witty, hilarious, sexy, steamy romance that you don't want to miss out on. I fell in love with Poppy and Zach! They are the perfect match up with her sassiness and his alphaness, it is just perfect! Life is a funny thing and surprise you at anytime and this book is the perfect example of that!

xo, Zach was a cute read. Zach is a very determined guy who knows what he wants and goes for it. He has a really sweet side to him that I thoroughly enjoyed as well. Poppy is a caring and hardworking woman who just wants to do what's best for her son, Connor. With that she has a hard time doing things for herself and letting others help her. Her stubbornness was a little frustrating at times, but I get where she's coming from. I enjoyed the storyline and the concept, I just think things could have been sped up a little. I really enjoyed the ending and thought it was all super cute!

xo, Zach is witty, sexy, and all around fun to read! Oh and the old fashion romance with love letters were the icing to the cake! Zach wooed me with his words. I didn't realize the direction that this story was going to take at the beginning would suck me in until the end. I love that both the hero and heroine have a love for words. Poppy worked so hard as she tried to juggle though life and the unexpected surprises that come along. I truly enjoyed meeting little Connor. My heart melted when Zach stepped up and showed Poppy he was in it until the end. My heart strings were pulled to the max with the poetry going on between Zach and Poppy. Poppy was not easily convinced. Will she finally let go and give herself a chance for more? That my friends you will have to find out once you get this book. I could not get enough of Zach's mom. I loved that she did not have a filter when she spoke. The sexual tension was so thick that I was biting my nails to see if the Deed would finally get done. xo, Zach was an enjoyable read and gives you all the warm and fuzzies. There were also some laugh out loud moments, and high temperature scenes. I loved it all!

xo, Zach had chemistry, instant attraction and a chance meeting at a party all to pull you in quickly from the beginning for Zach and Poppy's story. Of course, when Poppy finds out that her random fake boyfriend at the party is Zach, her advisor, she is hesitant to let herself fall for him. Zach is the forbidden fruit and he loves to embarass Poppy and make her blush. His mom is hilarious and tells it like it is. I really liked this book. It was fun, flirty and easy to fall in love with both characters. Kendall did a great job on xo, Zach and I can't wait for her next book. Enjoy!!!

This was such a cute cute story filled with some downright funny moments. Poppy and Zach had me hooked from the beginning. I found myself constantly smiling at Zach’s advances and felt myself blushing at times. He wasn’t overly cocky but he was definitely flirtatious and made no attempts to hide his attraction. As the relationship between Zach and Poppy progresses things get hot and boy does Kendall Ryan know how to write some steamy scenes. There are also some moments in this that will melt your heart and make you swoon. I also have to say that this book has some fantastic supporting cast members that had me literally in stitches throughout the book with their personalities. If you are looking for a feel good book then this is definitely a must read. I couldn’t stop smiling while reading this.

Zach is my favorite part of this story! He is so swoon worthy! I couldn’t help but read this book in just a few sittings. It made me so happy to read Zach and Poppy’s story. What starts as a fake date at a party turns much deeper than either of them expected. Leaving the party, they don’t exchange phone numbers, they leave it up to chance. If they happen to meet again maybe it was meant to be. Fate is a powerful thing when they soon meet again as advisor and advisee. I loved the forbiddenness aspect in this story. With Zach as Poppy’s advisor in her master’s program, there is an ethical dilemma right off the bat. Their pull towards each other continues to get stronger as the sparks fly between them. What I enjoyed the most was that the forbiddenness was not shoved in your face. It was there but it wasn’t an overwhelming/overpowering part of the story. My favorite part of this book is one of the reasonings driving one of the characters. That’s all I’m going to say about it, as it’s not given away in the synopsis and as always I stay spoiler free! Zach’s mom is an absolute hoot! I loved her! She made me laugh out loud and blush for the characters. I hope that we can get some kind of story for her. Maybe even just a novella! If your looking for a sweet romance with a touch of angst, I recommend giving this one a try!

XO, Zach is a sexy, funny and loving story. Zach won my heart and he will win yours too. He is man who is passionate, brutally honest and has such a naughty side that will leave you breathless. Poppy is a girl we can all relate to. Getting revenge on an Ex boyfriend is sweet but what is sweeter is when Poppy least expects to find an instant spark with Zach! Loved their chemistry and the build up to finding out if these two will end up together. Get this book for a swoon worthy romance that will grab your heart.
