Overview

Xoe never thought she’d be the type of girl to contemplate murder. Of course, she never thought she’d be dealing with werewolves on top of her own strange, budding powers. She’d also never considered the possibility of her long lost father being a demon. Everything comes crashing down at once when her best friend’s life is put in peril, and Xoe will do whatever it takes to save her. On top of it all, there’s Jason. He might be tall and handsome, but she doesn’t trust him as far as she can throw him. Given that he’s a vampire, she’ll have to be able to catch him first.

Meet the Author

I was born and raised in Arizona. Still here, in case you were wondering. Besides writing, I'm currently working on a degree in English. When I'm not "working" either on my books or schoolwork, I like to practice yoga with extremely poor form, and paint things no one would ever want to hang in their home. Another current obsession is Final Fantasy: A Realm Reborn...taking up way too much of my time. I published my first novel, "Xoe" in 2009. Since then, I've added two more books to the series, "Accidental Ashes" and "Broken Beasts". I'm currently working on a book outside of my Xoe series. I'll hopefully get that sucker published by the end of summer.

I took a chance on a book without previous reviews, and it was definitely worth it! Funny, well written, with a strong female character it's easy to like. I'll definitely be reading the others in the series!

142 pgs. Was worth the read :) I'd read it again as well. I hope that there is a second one. I like the supernatural bent as well as the humor the author gives with her drama.

I picked this book up because I was looking for a free YA book on iBook for a long car trip. This book is very enjoyable and easy to read. But once I finished it and thought about it, it actually wasn't that good. Don't get me wrong, I love Xoe, she is great character. But all the characters expect her just were flat and undeveloped. Dan, I felt wasn't a good villain and annoyed me at times. Xoe's friends weren't really that memorable. Another thing that we needed more of was information on the magic world. I'm sure they will explain in the second book but still, the world building wasn't there. Also I felt the supernatural creatures weren't inventive (expect the demons). Werewolves, vampires, and etc. were the classic form, not really creative. I recommend this book for a quick read but it wasn't memorable

Likeable characters. There are a few errors but not enough that it's hard to follow.

Xoe Meyrs is a regular teenage girl, but not for long. Xoe's best friend gets scrached and turned into a werewolf, she finds out she's aparently not human, not to metion there's a rough werewolf out to kill her and her friends. Ordinary people turn out to be supernatual creatures, and Xoe finds herself in love with a vampire. Can her love for her friends and family help get rid of the rough werewolf ounce and for all, does she finally let herself get convinced that she's in love with a ounce and for all. Find out and read this awesome book!- elesajammer224

“Xoe” is one of those books that you will simply not be able to put down from start to finish.  A gripping tale that sent chills down my spine and left me wanting more from Author Sara C. Roethle.  Alexondra Meyers, whose friends call Xoe, is developed perfectly in a stunning and captivating manner that is easy to relate too. At times you will find yourself rooting for her, while at others she will just make you cringe. Lisa, Allison, Dan and Jason together with Xoe all collide in an original unique story that entails vampires and werewolves. There is Adventure, Romance, Mystery, Fantasy and Suspense.  While the book is intended for a teenage audience I felt that all would enjoy. Total read time for me was about a day and a half and would definitely enjoy reading more from author Sara C. Roethle.  The Xoe Meyer’s series is truly unique and captivating. I shared with my teenage daughter and she too has become a fan of Xoe.  5 Stars!
