some people got no taste. XXX is a marvelous piece of work by the ZZ boys. raunchy and raw, refined and raspy, blues with a rock backbeat. after 30 years this band can sure boogy. i'll take this album over many of their previous releases. it's a great compliment to the rest of their catalog and a strong new expression. if you dont rock and you got no blues in your soul, you might not accept this music, but if you do then buy it and boogy

This album finally fulfills the 'little ol' Band's' transition that was started with Antenna, and continued with Rythmeen. I think that the guy must not know that ZZ Top has over a dozen original studio albums, and the original 8 albums are far superior to their middle few, with the electronic daze. Randall Banks

having been a zz top fan since the beginning i guess that makes me old but to listen to their new sound keeps me young ... you can expect to hear a lot of old zz fans complain about the radical sound of the new XXX but i still find it true to their roots ... a great melding of the original blues based material melded with the progressive sounds of their mid period and added onto with a fresh new rockin' sound ... listen to teddy bear, dreadmonboogaloo, belt buckle, made into a movie and poke chop sandwich ... some of everything ZZ is there ... dont listen when the old foggys tell you the band has lost it ... what they are saying is they have lost it

I have been a ZZ Top fan for over a decade, and I can't say that there has been an album that I really disliked...until now. The guitars are not trademark-fuzzy anymore...they're muddy and garbled. None of the songs really stick out, none of them are memorable, and a few of them are downright awful. The last few tracks are live pieces which will annoy you to no end...there's too much
