About the Author

Claudio Sanchez is a performing artist with the progressive rock outfit Coheed and Cambria. He is also the comic book author of The Amory Wars series, Key of Z, and Kill Audio. Claudio lives in the woods with his wife, Chondra, their two dogs, Benson and Barbara and their Yellow 1971 Super Beetle, George.

Peter David is a New York Times bestselling author, with over seventy novels and a thousand comic books published. He is best known for his "Star Trek: The New Frontier" novels, his award-winning twelve-year run on the "Incredible Hulk," and his creator-owned comic series "Fallen Angel." None of which his kids cared about, but now that he's worked with Coheed and Cambria, he's acquired some measure of coolness in their eyes.

Anyone who has followed the music of Coheed and Cambria must read this book! Finally you can see how the stage was set for the central story of their fisrt album. And even if you do not know the band it ks still a good read.

This novel was a fun and informative read. I have been a huge Coheed and Cambria fan for years. Besides the writing itself being a little choppy, it was throughly enjoyable. I would recommend as long as you know it's not truly amazing writing, reguarding the style.

The book had all the best elements of any good sci-fi action, whatever that may be, and was written in a way that any casual sci-fi nerd would easily understand. I could be a little biased from being a lifelong fan of the music, but either way this story is great. Any Coheed and Cambria fans who are interested in the story definitely must read this!!!

Year of the Black Rainbow by Claudio Sanchez is an amazing Sci-Fi thriller.  It was impossible to put down.  Sanchez creates some vividly wonderful characters and locations, seemingly out of nother.  then, the characters create even more amazing characters completely out of nothing.  I loved the flow of this novel and the story line is beyond phenomenal.  I also like the (Book 1) in the listing because I will so enjoy reading more.

Thus book truly touches the roots of The Amory Wars comics. Any true Coheed and Cambria will enjoy reading the story of Wilhelm Ryan's quest to conquer and rule the Keywork and the planets within it. I won't say anything else other than read it and I promise you will enjoy it. It's not all about fictional characters, there is real life situations and emotions as well. Very worth the read...
