When it comes to cookbooks, A Year with Six Sisters’ STUFF offers much more than just recipes. This beautiful bound, softcover cookbook offers menu planning, a list of pantry staples, a food storage plan for beginners, and craft ideas. My favorite extra is the 52 dinner conversation starters. This is a great way to spend quality time with the entire family while enjoying a fun and easy meal. The recipes are easy to prepare dishes that include basic ingredients most every kitchen already has on hand. However, be aware some of these dishes aren’t for those on strict diets. The recipes are featured in a ’52 Menu Plan’ format that groups three yummy dishes together for a delicious meal. You can mix and match the recipes for additional dinner ideas. Each recipe is accompanied by a stunning, rich color photograph showing the prepared dishes. The recipes are written in a simple format making it easy to follow. The recipes are designed for quick and easy preparation so canned and packaged ingredients are used at times. The menus include such tasty recipes as: Oven-Fried Chicken, BBQ Macaroni Salad and Oatmeal Scotchies (Menu 33); Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork Loin, Brown Sugar and Bacon Green Beans and 5-Minute Creamy Key Lime Pie (Menu 39); and Baked Crispy Chicken Parmesan, Mini Garlic Monkey Bread and Snickerdoodle Blondies (Menu 40). A recipe that was a big hit with us was the Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork Loin. So easy to fix. While the end result didn’t compare to the photo in the cookbook, I was delighted with it just the same. When I tried to remove the pork loin from the slow cooker, it began to fall apart. The meat was so tender and moist. It was impossible to slice because it keep falling apart. This is now a favorite at our house. A Year with Six Sisters’ STUFF provides a handy meal schedule, delicious and easy recipes, helpful tips, and fun ideas to bring the family together at meal time and in-between.
