About the Author

(2001) EILEEN W. LINDNER is the Deputy General Secretary for Research & Planning of the nation's largest ecumenical agency, the National Council of Churches, comprised of thirty-five protestant and orthodox churches with a constituent membership exceeding fifty million Americans. During her tenure as Director of the Child Advocacy Office, Lindner established the Ecumenical Child Care Network, serving 18,000 preschool programs in churches of all denominations nationwide. She serves as Theologian in Residence to the Children's Defense Fund's Summer Institute in Child Advocacy Ministry and as a member of the board of Directors of Stand for Children.
