Overview

Yellow by matthew riehl

Jax Wright is a seemingly ordinary man leading a mundane life as lead technical editor at a military proving ground. Because of his position and connections, he becomes privy to some highly confidential government projects, such as Goliath, a cutting edge weapon system being developed and tested at the proving ground. When the top-secret project is supposedly leaked, one of the world's most notorious terrorist groups, Hamas, tries to infiltrate the system and seize the project as their own. Being the most lethal weapon ever created, Goliath is capable of triggering another Holocaust, and putting America in grave danger.

Jax stumbles into the treachery when he hears a conversation between one of his underlings and a member of Hamas regarding Goliath, during which he learns his name is being used by the terrorist group to recruit others. With his name dragged into such treasonous acts, Jax decides to play sleuth to try and expose a traitor. This act sets in motion a series of cataclysmic events which leaves the fate of two countries in Jax's hands.

This is a fast paced adventure that kept me interested until the very end.

The story moves at a fast clip from the get-go, and keeps the suspense up with no boring slowdowns. Here’s a relatively normal guy thrown into extraordinary circumstances, and doing the best he can with his wits. In other words, Jax (the main character in the story) is no “James Bond”, but he’s no idiot. Get ready for an action packed ride.

Good idea for a story, just really poorly executed and written. Instead of plot twists you get plot jumps and disconnects. Overall nice try by the author, but more practice is needed.
