Terri D. has managed to take me through every single emotion possible! There was not one moment where I wasn't sitting on the edge of my seat, waiting to read about what unbelievable set of circumstances would arise next. The well-developed, mature characters had personalities and traits that were believable and at times made me think of people in my very own life, and I'll bet you'll recognize a few from your life as well. The whirlwind of edgy situations and dilemmas had me wondering what could possibly happen next! With each turn of a page, secrets, lies, and skeletons came tumbling out with such perfect timing, leaving me worried and tense, waiting for someone to get caught at something or other. lol! The series of events in each character's life that literally popped up so unexpectedly was very entertaining and kept my attention until the very end, and even then I was hoping there would be more to come. Terri D. has done an amazing job of weaving the lives of her characters together so intricately, while at the same time creating a story packed with suspense, intrigue, wonder and love. I'm sure there will be fact I'm counting on it. I'll be watching and waiting. Awesome job Terri D. Review by Barbara Grovner, (AKA B. Grovner)author of EVEN NUMBERS, COLD CRAZY & COLD SERIAL.

Wow is all I can say! I'm so excited that I decided to purchase this (NOOK) book. I had never heard of Terri D., but I saw someone recommending it on a social networking site. I loved the title and when I read what the book was about I was instantly intrigued. From the moment I read the first page I didn't want put the book down! I read it in less than 24 hours. I loved the way the chapters were broken down and it made it easy to get into the mind of each character and play them out like a mini-movie in my head! I can't wait to get together with friends so we can have a discussion on this book. I am so looking forward to reading more work from Terri D.! An EXCELLENT read, so much so...I have all my friends purchasing this book! Great work!

Jada and Toni are best friends, but do they have hidden secrets between them? Jada lives a happy, beautiful life with her family, is Toni jealous? Why did Toni date Darien, and was she ever attracted to Benjamin? How did the lives of the characters interwine in unexpected ways? Friends share joy, tears, and are there for each other, but do they lead the same lifestyle? When secrets from the past are revealed, will the friendship ever be the same? What did Toni do when she found out she was pregnant? How did Toni react when Benjamin was back in her life? Who became upset about Gina's pregnancy? Who is Toni's true love, and what was their favorite song? Why did Benjamin go to jail, and who was Vince in love with? I highly recommend this novel to all contemporary fiction lovers, who enjoy compelling stories, with a blend of romance and drama. Terri D. creates an intriguing story, packed with twists-and-turns, based on the trials-and-tribulations of friendship and relationships that can indeed return to haunt us. The author introduces a plot that becomes thought-provoking page-after-page as the reader craves for more. Terri D. makes one think about insecurity, self-doubt, and traumatic issues that women deal with throughout their lives. Touching, enjoyable moments exist as well as betrayal and redemption. Do the female characters that come to life within the pages of this emotional story exist inside all women? Will Jada and Toni be friends forever? Will Toni lead the life she longs for? Does a fine line exist between love and hate? "YESTERDAY'S LIES" is as compelling as THE COLOR PURPLE and as entertaining as WAITING TO EXHALE, with Whitney Houston, and Angela Bassett.

I fell in love with this book. Usually I don't find my books, they find me. You know that you have found the perfect book when you find yourself engrossed in each and every page and submerged within the characters of the book. I got this book on a whim and kept skimming past it and really didn't know when I would get to it. I'm glad one day it jumped out at me and I was hooked. I'm certainly going to be reading the next book by this author. Thank you for sharing your work with a happy reader.

I have to admit that it took me awhile to get "into" this book. There was SO much backstory and character development in the beginning that it was hard to keep up with the story. I'm glad that I continued to try to read this book thoughbecause it turned out to be REALLY good! I'm kind of mad at myself for not being more persistent with reading it because I could have been done with it months ago. The author so brilliantly weaved the tale in such a way that I was able to get in the story and feel like I was an actor in it. I felt so many emotions while reading this book that I was emotionally drained by the time I finished it. That quite possibly be due to the fact that I read about 3/4 of the book in one sitting. I really enjoyed this story and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good drama read :)

Toni is single and still looking for Mr. Right. She dates but tends to give up too much in the beginning, hoping that each time will be different. Her best friend, Jada, is married and keeps a watchful eye from the sideline as she hopes and prays that someday soon her best friend will be blessed with a good man of her own. It's been seven long years since Benjamin has seen the love of his life, Toni. In fact, he's lost contact with all of his friends and wonders how his arrival will impact each of their lives. His best friend David Jr., Jada's husband, while happy about Benjamin's arrival in their lives, is conflicted as he holds the key to their past. Darien is a devout ladies' man. He's never been in love and steers away from any sister looking to be a permanent fixture in his world. His lunch time hookups with Toni, a chick from work, is mmm.mmm.good. When they start to venture out to dinner with breakfast in bed, the "nothing serious" seems to be simmering up. YESTERDAY'S LIES by Terri D. started out awkward as it's told in first person with alternate views. It's not until the conflict enters that I found myself engrossed in the read, which in itself is a difficult task as there are serious editing offenses: missing words, missing punctuations, and incorrect word usage. (EXAMPLES: "Starting" instead of "started." The words "overzealous," "overreact" and "overprotective" were written as two separate words.) Even with that said, the story is very good and connects cleverly. I especially like how the title plays into the story. Readers will find themselves wrapped up. The ending is a little too passé, but I commend the author for being able to end the story without leaving readers in limbo. With an editor, Terri D. would definitely be on every reader's reading list. Reviewed by: Crystal
