About the Author

Amy Vaughn has been studying Eastern philosophy and mysticism for over 20 years. She was drawn to Hatha Yoga as a means of managing a severe anxiety disorder. Her practice and teaching center on stilling the mind through self-acceptance and compassion.

Amy has a B.A. in Religious Studies and Psychology and an M.A. in Sustainable Communities. She earned her 200 hour teacher training certificate from The Yoga Connection (Tucson, AZ) and an 800 hour certificate in the History and Philosophy of Yoga through Georg and Brenda Feuerstein's Traditional Yoga Studies.

Besides teaching gentle and traditional Hatha Yoga, Amy leads workshops on the history, philosophy, and practice of yoga and mentors teacher trainees. You can find her teaching classes around Tucson and online at DesertSkyYoga.com.
