Variations of fairy tales written to be read aloud by an adult and a child. My 6 year old grand daughter loves these books. Instead of the usual 'bed time story', she enjoys the combination of being read to and reading to Mom or Dad.

This was a gift to a beginning reader who has and continues to enjoy reading it with her parents. I highly recommend this series to others.

We love this book and the first edition. We have four kids ages 10, 7, 2,and 15 months. We use it in so many different ways. The first book came out when our oldest was learning to read and it has been very well - loved. That is the reason we purchased this book and we have loved it to pieces too. Our two oldest girls take turns reading the parts aloud to the two younger kids and it really keeps their attention. These books were what we used to improve our 2nd grader's 'reading fluency' meaning the quality of her tone and inflection for reading aloud. Even the grownups get a giggle out of these.

Getting my reluctant early reader to sit with a book is often a real chore. Now, he's begging me to read this book. The stories are funny renditions of well-known tales and he loves picking which role he'll read each time we reach a new story. His fluency is improving as he mimics my pace and we both love ending each story in unison, 'You read to me, I'll read to you.' Get this book!

These books are fantastic. This would be a great way to get younger children reading with you, because they only read a little bit at a time and then someone else reads the next small stanza. But, my favorite is in every story the very last stanza is read together. Any child would love these books!

Hoberman rewrites classic fairy tales and nursery rhymes as smart, funny poems for pairs to read together. Great for a unit on poetry or just to get some giggles from your students.

I've been reading fairy tales and such since I was a boy, and also read them to my son, but when I saw this book in Barnes & Noble I bought it with the intention of my son reading it to me. It's all worked out greatly and he now reads them (this book) to his mom, grandparents, friends, etc.
