My 4-year old niece loves this book. Not only does it teach her how to read, it also teaches valuable lessons such as appreciating differences between people, words that are not appropriate to use, and the importance of reading. The stories encourage creativity and discussion. The illustrations are very entertaining. We like the layout of the book, one reads one side, the other reads the other side, and both read what is in the middle. We can also switch sides when she has learned one side. I can see her sharing this with her friends. A very good tool for learning to read and in how to work as a team. I highly recommend this book. It is a joy to read and share.

Cute short stories written to be read by an adult and a child. Stories are just long enough for bed time reading. Colorful illustrations. Great for the novice reader.

This book was a gift to a beginning reader, who has enjoyed reading alongside her parents. I highly recommend reading this series to others.

I sent this book to my granddaughter who lives with her father and is going through a lot of separation anxiety away from her mother. Sharing the reading more closely bonds her relationship with "Daddy"as she learns new words and at the same time enjoys sharing a story with him, not just listening to him read.

Our students in our reading lab are 3rd-5th grade at-risk students reading 1 1/2+ years below grade level. They LOVE this book. Most of the time the students read to their tutors, with this book, they read WITH their tutors. It is a great way for the tutors to model reading fluency. I have students memorizing the short 'stories', trading places with the tutors for their parts, and even coming in at recess with a friend to read the book.
