Young Reader's Bible based on 0 ratings. 1 reviews.
The text is the Revised Standard Version and includes common additions such as book introductions, inserted headings, and maps. For me the most significant difference is that the text is printed a little larger for younger readers, which allows them to print the most commonly cited sections in a larger print and less popular sections (e.g. long lists) in small print. This is an interesting choice that encourages the transition from children's stories to adult study. The page is also of a large (quarto) size and on a paper that is more of a study-bible thickness rather than a pocket-bible one, making the book sturdy enough for children--just hope they don't ask you to lug it around for them, as it is the size and weight of a ream of copy paper. This isn't terribly useful for me, but it seems thoughtfully designed for its purpose and so far I have kept it for sentimental reasons.
