Overview

Dr. Koy Roberts is a child and family psychologist with two decades in the trenches counseling children and families. Over the years he's collected a list of popular parenting ideas mistaken for good parenting. He helps parents identify their popular parenting mistakes and set simple, achievable and intentional parenting objectives. Never has there been a more important time for us to intentionally parent as we face the most challenging generation of kids to raise. Our time with our families is pressed and many of us are stressed to the max while our children are swamped in academics, extracurriculars, technology and social media. This generation of children need principled parenting not popular parenting. A groundswell of wise and resilient parents are needed to root out entitlement, narcissism and discipline deficits and replace with humble, hard working, balanced and respectful character traits. We all want our children to be equipped before they face the real world. Dr. Roberts outlines what the most successful of parents do so that their children leave well.

If you don't read another parenting book ever, read this one! I can't stress enough how incredibly insightful and impacting this book can be. Dr. Roberts' insight to parenting is thoughtful, wise and more importantly, helpful. I've read more parenting books that I can count in my 16 years of parenting. This has to be one of the best I've ever read. The chapters are easy to yet yet full of information. You can start and stop as your schedule allows. You will be encouraged and challenged to parent in a way that will change your family. I am thankful for a solid voice in today's society that helps us do for our kids what they are desperate for us to do.
