I bought this book in '04. It was great. It has a lot of information and easy to read. I recommend this book to parents-to-be who need as much information as possible without having to sit and read for hours.

I bought this book when I was pregnant in 2000. I chose it out of many because it tells 'in detail' what is happening with your developing baby every week. It was my first pregnancy, I was glowing and couldn't put the book down. Seeing the illustrations of the fetus and being able to relate its size to something was super exciting. I'm so excited about this book I've loned it to friends that where expecting; they loved it too. I strongly recommend this book to expecting mothers and fathers interested in the development of their unborn baby.

Here's an excellent book for women who are excited about the developing life within! It makes the experience easier to share with your husband especially in the earlier weeks when you aren't so obviously pregnant. It calms fears, is relevant and answers most questions that arise between MD visits. I used it for all three of my pregnancies and highly recommend it.

This book has been a big help. Being able to read what is going on with the baby and myself makes it alot more fun. I would recommend it to any first time Moms who want to know step by step.

Like some other reviewers, I found this book to be a real downer. I know things can go wrong, but I don't need to be reminded every page! The information and the style of the book were so outdated too. There are way better pregnancy books out there

This book was my bible for the duration of my pregnancy. My sister's doctor gave it to her and it gets passed around at every baby shower. I loved knowing just what areas were developing each week. I also loved the section on my body it helped to explain a lot of what i was going through.

I enjoyed this book with my first child, and I am using it again for baby #2. The weekly information is exciting to follow - I often read ahead! It helped me to prepare for OB appointments. There is information regarding medical complications and as a healthcare worker, I like that. That information (clearly) does not apply to the majority, but problems can occur and for those who have problems or health concerns, this book will be a useful tool for those ladies.

I was given this book when I was pregnant with my first son four years ago. It was great. It felt so good to know how he was changing and growing each week. I also had another book that updated me monthly but I thought this one was much better.

I went a little crazy and bought three books when I found out I was pregnant. Even though I use all of them for cross-reference, I feel that this book out did the others by far. I look forward to sitting down every Friday night to see what my little one is up to. I know that it brings up a lot of potential problems that could occur, but when I was diagnosed throughout my pregnancy with three different pregnancy related complications including gestational diabetes, I was prepared because of this book. Remember, just because you read about the bad stuff doesn't mean it will happen to you....but wouldn't you rather be informed? I'm grateful that I was. I can't wait to read the companion book for baby's first year week-by-week!

I loved this book so much I bought the equivalent book for my daughter now that she is born. I couldn't wait to read what was happening to my body and how my little one was changing. I often read 2 or 3 weeks ahead just to see how she was going to grow. I bought it half way through my pregnancy after having read 'What to expect when you're expecting' for the first half. I must say that I really enjoyed the fact that I got updates weekly instead of monthly. A must buy for all first-time Moms and Dads.

I agree with the other reviewers that metioned how much emphasis this book puts on potential problems. I browsed through most of the book and most sections seem to be: you're baby is this size, this is what your body is doing, this is some obscure problem that could occur, information on what the section is about. We ended up returning the book right away. It turns out that several of my wife's friends and relatives had the same reaction. Quite a few of the women we know have purchased this book, none have kept it.

This book was interesting in that it showed what the baby was doing every week, but it concentrated on all the things that can go wrong. It also seemed condescending.

I liked this book because I can see where in development my baby is each week. It is very discriptive.

I loved this book!!! I would read what was happening with 'Matthew' every time I sat down. I liked knowing how he was changing; I liked knowing how I was changing. I loved knowing the size of the angel in my body. I think this book is a must for first time parents.

My husband and I loved this book! It was a quick read every week to find out what our babies (we had twins) were going through in utero. I now buy it for all my pregnant friends and they love it just as much!

This was a great book. It gives you weekly updates about your body and your baby. It has great illustrations of how big your baby is and what the baby looks like. I also had What to Expect, and I feel the only part of that book that was helpful was the labor and delivery portion of the book. Your Pregnancy Week By Week does lack that portion of your pregnancy. It is more the developmental part of your body and the babies.

This book was very helpful. My family and I read what was going on for me and the baby every Saturday. It was more understandable than the 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' because it dealt with issues on a weekly basis. When you're pregnant things do change from week to week. It gave insight and educated us about the possible problems with the pregnancy and labor while at the same time giving a list of symptoms so you wouldn't get panicked about yourself.

This guide to pregnancy provides enough fear for the newly pregnant woman to swear off ever getting pregnant again. Included in each section are rare complications which are made to seem common. Women who are looking for advice to deal with normal physical changes are confronted with possibilities that can make a normal pregnancy an extremely fearful experience. Women in this culture are exposed to so much negativity surrounding birth and this book validates this, citing these unusual exceptions and making the process of childbirth increasingly frightening. If you are looking for a book to increase your confidence in the birth process and your body's ability to birth, avoid this one at all costs.
